Should I buy a 1992 VR4 and have it hauled to my state? The VR4 is $1000 and the owner says it would be good for someone who wanted it for parts. The engine still runs but has a bad lifter tick and the interior is okay.

Would this car be fine if i bought a new engine, new turbos(including intercooler etc.), and a new transmission?

If this project would  be okay to do, could you also tell me what other parts do you think i would need ,like maybe a new ecu or computer? or brakes?

 Thank You

It's hard to say...it sucks buying someone elses problems.  By the time you are done rebuilding everything, you could have probably picked up one in good running order.  You would know just about every in and out of your car though, going through the process.

is the seller selling the car saying it runs? i always thought that the lifter tick was just annoying, but would still run.and, how's the exterior of the car? i mean, if the body is in good shape, and the engine/tranny may just need a little work, 1000 sounds like a pretty good deal. hell, even a good looking body could go for 1000 dollars. is he basically selling you a shell?

lifter tick is normal for 98 and older 3000GT/Stealths
sometimes, a simple oil change will rid the problem
otherwise, you'd have to buy 99 style lifters
