If its a 420a(non turbo) no. Thats like taking a chevy motor and trying to put a toyota tranny on it.
420a(non turbo, rs/gs)=dodge
4g63t(turbo, gst/gsx)= mitsubishi
Swap can work but will cost more then the value of the car. I am not going to get into it, if you want the run down search for it.

If its a gst or gsx, yes. If you have a rs or gs, no.

like he said, if its a turbo motor than only turbo motors will swap in, if its a non turbo motor than only the non turbo motor will swap in. So which one is it?

The only turbo engine you could drop in the non-turbo eclipse is the Evo engines. If you want a turbo engine, that might be the right choice.

Thats a good point being the engine is like turned around...

The direction of the motor isant what matters, you still run into the same problems. You would need to custom make every motor mount, re wire the whole car, re do the entire fuel system, and transplant the whole stearing/suspension asyembly from a gst onto the gs. Its just not worth the trouble.. with all of the money and labor spent you could have a cherry 2gb gsx
