2001 RS

2001 Eclipse RS. I have been searching, and want an honest opinion of how to make this thing faster (acceleration wise). Been considering trans swap, even a motor swap. With the speed, I am going to get coilovers to help it handle better. Any suggestions ?

Forget the tranny swap its alot of work and $$$ for a little gain.  the car will still not be fast.   and foget teh motor swap too.  no need to swap the motor.   you can do a Evo head swap rather easily and turbo the car even easier.  there are thousands of GS RS 2000-2005 Eclipses that are turbo and making like 300WHP and that is on the stock motor.  add a built bottom end and a Evo head swap you cann do 10x better if you hve the $$$$

Can you give me a link or something I can search for the evo head swap? I can't find it.

Also, with a cold air intake I was told my car has around 165hp. Is this correct?

to the engine it might, it will still barely have over 110 to the wheels tho. an intake is not a good start if your planning on making big power ie. turbo

It was my brother's before mine- he didn't want to spend a lot, just wanted to make it sound mean. Say I am looking for an intercooler, or a turbo to fit an eclipse: Where do I start? What kind should I look for? Links would be extremely helpful.

The club3g's sites are the best for looking if you want someone who has TONS of experience with this stuff go to club3gFL and PM Tearston, or Russ.  or IM him at tearstonePS on AIM he is the king of 3G turbos pretty much the most well known guy in the 3G world.  I know him personally he is a great guy and will always help anyone out and at the very least point you in the right direction otherwise just use the search feature of the other sites and poke around.

Isnt that still a manual trans though?

If I get a turbo, itn't it worth getting a manual? Or there is a trans type, it can be both- I forgot the name. Is this worth getting?
