Recently, my manual transmission went out completely. My extended warranty covered the replacement, but I had to have the clutch replaced also. The car only had 36000 on it, and 80% was all highway. I have been the only owner and really baby the car. Anyway has anyone else had this problem? Would like to know if others have had to replace the tranny and also.

Is there a better transmission out there that would not be so notchy etc......

Is this your 1st manual tranny car? cause I have had 2 3G eclipses a 2000 GS and a 2002 GT spyder both never had a tranny problem and I have been a member on all the 3Gforums since day 1 and never read about any other people haveing tranny issues. at such low miles as well. My GS had 102,000 miles on it and tranny was fine even though the car was beat. My spyder had 45,000 on it and was fine as well

no, this is not my first manual. have had several. the tech stated that the gears locked up. i was going 75, funny thing is that I had just left the dealer and I told them something was wrong. they test drove it and said its ok. 20minutes later I was calling them to come and get me.

you might be able to try and place some liablity on them if you can get a 3rd party tranny shop to state it was a ongoing problem?
