2008 Lancer

Does anybody know how to work the SCV (speed control volume) on the 2008 Lancer? The volume is supposed to go up when the speed of the car goes up but mine does not. In my manual it says just press and hold one of the buttons in and when I do it says "SCV ON" but nothing happens when I speed up or get on the freeway. I know it is kind of a stupid thing but I am just wondering if it just doesn't work in my car, I feel dumb having to go to the dealership for something so small. Thanks for any help.

id check the owner's manual, i know for the Aux input you hold the cd button for 5 seconds so im guessing its the am/fm/sirius one, or just hold the buttons till it pops up

What part of the steering wheel are you pressing?
 
The left is for the cd.radio.aux and volume control.
 
The right is for the cruise control it has Cancel, Set CRUISE/LOWER ,FASTER CRUISE AND THE BUTTON TO TURN IT ON/OFF
 
If you press the ON button. The cruise control sign will lit up on the dash.
 
If you don't see any CRUISE CONTROL LIT up it means you have a problem.
Please don't let the dealer replace the whole steering wheel.
they will break the cover of the steering behind that gap between the steering wheel and the steering column.
 
I like using cruise control because I feel like driving a CVT or Paddle shifter.
 I used it all the time.
 

Huh?  Speed Compensated Volume on the radio has nothing to do with cruise control.

I have the Navi + rockford on my 08, and enabled the speed compensated volume.  I barely notice a difference too -- I think the difference is very subtle (really just desgined to compensate for road noise, not really overall volume, I guess).  I'd probably have to measure the audio output to see what exactly it changes.  Or the SCV is just a placebo effect.... hah

I didn't know Volume as A Speed? LOL
I know that brain 360 but I don't think that Lancer as that option
 
I have an ES Model. I never heard when the car goes faster the volume goes higher?

Sebba can you help this guys. They want the volume to increase while the car increase speed? if that's true damn the Lancer is better than a Bimmer.

the 2006+ cobalts have this standard but i dont think its a necassary bell and whistle, kinda pointless and makes you feel more lazy than you actually are 

Its only meant to compensate for road noise and wind... it wont be much of a difference

Which trim of the Lancer should have to have the RCA audio plugs? Are they standard on all Lancer trims?

If you bought the whole package there should be one near the ashtray
But the weird about the Lancer is some do have it and some don't
 
Like the TRUNK Key hole, the GTS has it but the ES don't have it (like mine)

I have sun & sound with navigation and have the aux inputs by the ash tray.  08 GTS here.  My GTS does NOT have a keyhole for the trunk, but that is probably because I have the F.A.S.T. Key system... the "keyhole" is just a button to push instead.

The GTS trim here in New England has the key hole and some don't. I have been trying to find out why. Probably some Lancer that were made earlier didn't have key hole and but the newer ones has it.
 
My Lancer ES door locks after I get off the car I didn't even press my key and I don't have FAST Key.
 
Which is pretty weird because it only should work on FAST Keys not the ES trim with regular key/remote.
 
 

 So it has to have the Sun & sound package? They dont usually put one in the DE, do they? cuz it's the value trim right?

i dont have a key hole, i have a gts and i dont have the FAST key, so does that mean i dont have the GTS, i have everything for it just nat the key whole

IS THAT A SILLY QUESTION?
 
of course you have the GTS.
