I bought my 08 Lancer GTS ( 5 speed ) on april 18th, so far ( aug 13th. ) 20 000 miles. Anybody have more ? No problems at all. I'm averaging app. 29 - 31 mpg with about 80% highway driving. My best on full tank was 33.1 mpg, all but about 20 miles on highway, put 419 miles on tank with about 30 miles to spare. I also did once 35.3 mpg on 170 miles long trip driving no more than 65mph. And my absolute best was 38 mpg on 40 miles long trip, driving 50 - 55mph, light foot, no AC. By the way, i drive app. 60 - 65 000 miles a year. I also own 2007 Outlander with 7500 miles on it, no problems as well.

AKILEZ : I only wish that my tank would last 7 days, like i said, i drive 60 000 + miles a year, so i have days when i fill my tank twice and sometimes it last few days, but never 7. And by the way, i think my engine runs better, smoother and quiter than new, you should notice it too at 15 000 miles or so.

Actually I was wrong with my calculation my tank only last for 3 days but not 5 and rarely 4.
30 miles to work and another 30 miles going back with heavy traffic and AC on too.

it is new england what can I do
I am just worried about the Winter and my car I think they don't match and winter is so freakin dangerous to drive you can spin when ever mother nature wants you to spin in the highway doing 55 mpg during snow freakin storm.
that's why cold air intake will not work for New England cars it will swallow a lot of water
even though it has a by pass valve for water it will not work

You should stick around.. let us know how the engine goes.
Remember, in order for this to be a valid experiment you need to stay on top of the maintanace to the T...

I will give updates on my car during winter. Heavy rains was no problems during summer
but the rear window when it rains you barely see the car behind you.
Like the water sticks to the glass...

Mine is 26,000 miles no problem with my 08 Lancer
Except for my driving. I drove too fast on Northeastern and hit the side of my car just a scratch though. Thank God
But no problems on my Lancer and almost beat a Porsche 911 THE OTHER DAY.
Actually I was tailing him 3 cars behind so he can get a ticket not me. Don't street race it is dangerous and illegal.

About 17k miles so far here, no problems. Owned for 1 year, 1 month so far. Just did a 3000 mile road trip two weeks ago!

Funny you mention that, because that's how I got my first speeding ticket about 3 years ago... the cop got us both: He was driving in the oncoming lanes, whipped a u-turn, sped by me, pulled the guy I was following (I was probably 7-10 seconds behind him), waited for me to catch up and pulled me over, too. Gave us both tickets. Goes to show that if you speed, you will get caught, eventually :) This was for both of us driving 70mph in a 60 zone.
