Hey guys, I don't own a 3kGT, but I think they are awesome cars.
I have a 92 LeBaron with the 181 3.0 Mitsubishi V6 in it. I did some
research and was surprised to find that the motor in my car is related
to the motor in the 3000GT. Yep, that's right. They both use the same
bottom end, but the 3KGT gets a twin cam while the LeBaron gets a
single cam. Plus the VR-4 throws in the twin turbos(Sweet!) That means
a person could more than likely do a motor swap and put the very sweet
and very potent 3000gt motor in any chrysler, dodge or mitsubishi that
used the 3.0 V6.

Yeah, the 6g72 motor has been used in several mitsu and dodge cars. I think it has been in use since the mid 80's. You cannot just use the heads off of a DOHC engine on your SOHC block. The water jackets are not the same. There was a website that listed all of the different cars that was home to the 6g72. I'll have to find it as I did not save it to my bookmarks.

Off the top of my head, LeBarons, Caravans, Gallants, Stealth/3KGT, Eclipses (the current ones), Shadows, plus many others.

I'll see if I can find that site. edit: I didn't find the site, but a thread on 3si that list a few more than I mentioned

Does the 3.0 V6 in the newer cars look anything like it did back when it first came out?
It's the same motor, but I wonder if it's changed in appearance. It would be weird to look under the hood of a new eclipse and see the same motor that's in my LeBaron GTC. Thank goodness they fixed the oil consumption problem. My 92 GTC smokes more than snoop on a good day. I have to add oil alot b/w changes.

Thanks, it's a 15 footer though.

Oh, as in it looks good from 15 feet away?
I wouldn't have guessed that from the pic.
Would your car happen to be the much covetted twin turbo model?

Correctumundo, looks good at a glance. Not that it is trashed or anything, but plenty of door dings, hiway rock chips stuff like that. The paint is still pretty good, aside from the rock chips.

No, it is just a regular NA. I bought for my daily driver and chose the NA for reliability issues. Not that the TT's are bad, but most of them have been ragged on pretty hard.

I like the pop-up headlights...my prelude has pop-ups.

I like em too. That is one reason why I got a 1st gen.

Is your car a 4 seater or a 2 seater?

As far as the insurance company is concerned, yes, it is a 4 seater.

Will anyone other than children or midgets fit in the back?? NO.
