3000 gts have enough problems with them as it is! Let alone a totaled one! I would pass it up unless its not that bad and $500. Buy my car instead!

i have heard that 3000GT's have bad tranny problems. i just found out today that i have to replace my mass air flow sensor(the metal and plastic thing). we thought it was the TPS or the IAC. nope we were wrong its going to cost me $305 for a new. and i still have to buy a new hood, fender, mirror and headlights assembly. im thinkin of takin a $3000 loan out

thats a good one, but when they jack the keys and want to drive and you dont want to be a dick and let them drive and stall it or almost total your car cause they dont know what to do.

shes learning and i dont give in and let her drive inless she drives her jeep. her not knowing how to drive a standard landed me my second eclipse. i have tried to show her a 100times but  she cant get the feel of a clutch. not even the clutch on my four-wheeler.

Yikes, after reading about how y' all seem to hate your 3000GTs, I think I'm going to go with a Honda (as my Honda was more reliable than my Eclipse), or a Jeep. Thanks for helping me change my mind, before ending up with another bad car.

I have a stealth (same car if you didn't know) and I love it. I have not had any troubles with it other than regular maint. items. It has 144k on it.The 6g72 motor is a good motor that is plenty tough. Try to find a lower mileage one that has maint. records. If over 60k make sure the 60k maint has been done. This is one of the most important and oft overlooked aspect to owning one of these cars. If you want plain vanilla, go ahead and get a Honduh, but if you want something more get a 3kgt.

You know, my boyfriend refuses to believe that a 3000GT and Stealth are even similar... and he's really into cars (well, his car, at least... he loves it more than he loves me, I think ).

Y is that. They are meant to be cousins... just like the eclipse and talon and lazer.

The only thing different between the two is the plastic body cladding and a few options such as active aero on the VR4. Other than that they are identical, made at the same plant in Japan.

Were any made at diamondstar in bloomington IL? I only saw eclipses, but i didnt pay much attention to them back then.

Nope, all of the 3s models were made in Japan. They are not regarded as DSM cars because there was no collabaration between Chrysler and Mitsu in the development of the cars.

I think it is because he likes the Stealths... but doesn't want to own up to, therefore, liking a Mitsubishi.
