For all of you who own a 1993 3000GT or a Dodge Stealth and having overheating problems, here is a thread you should read.

The symptoms of my 1993 Stealth was idling at about 1500 rpm or below, the car would run cool to warm on the temp guage for about 10 mins. After ten minutes the temp would rise very very fast to the red zone of temp guauge. I changed the radiator, checked the hoses, changed the radiator cap, and nothing worked.

The problem was that the timing belt which drives the waterpump was glazed. It was essentialy slipping. At low rpms or when the engine is cold, it has no problem turning the waterpump pulley. However, as the engine warmed up, and you rev the motor above 1500 rpm the belt would slip. This caused the car to run at normal temperature at low rpms and overheat quickly at higher rpms.

To check the condition of your timing belt, unscrew the bolts to the timing cover and check it's condition. It should not be glazed, glossy, chipped, cracked, very hardened, brittle, or oily. These are all signs of a bad belt.

Good luck all and don't let the radars catch u..
