What is the best new engine for turning my GSX into beast. I was looking at the 4G63 or is there something better?

I am also looking into buying the TD05H 20G Turbo, what do you think?

the 4g63t engine that comes in it is the best you can use for that car. as far as 20g. i would say go with the buschur racing 20g turbo. if ya need help with more info, ask away. i am in the middle of building my 20g monster.it is gonna be sweet!

first off do all the maintinance(belts, hoses, gaskets, flushes, timing belt, balance belt, ect).then do your research, couple sites that helped me with my build:

750 is a lot of power to reach for for your first one..  And your gonna be needing more than a 20g turbo..     Is this gonna be 750 at the wheels?

Then why a 20G?  For around the same price range you could have a GT3583R, neither will net you 750, but it will get you closer to it.

**TA, you beat me to it **

What is your budget?

You are going to need at least 50k to replace everything, and make it a solid 750.

50k?? are you crazy? thats an assload of money... maybe like 20k tops... build up the engine and tranny, axles, brakes, turbo, clutch, flywheel, fuel... well maybe 30k lol

I had over $10 in the Evo and it dynoed 405WHP.  and add meth it is making now 470.  It cant put the power on the ground in first either

50k is a ways off for that kind of hp, but your definately not gonna be getting there for 10k...   I think you need to do some reasearch, because the $ numbers will add up fast when your throwing aftermarket parts in..  And 750 hp is gonna be breaking everything if you dont upgrade!

btw, great minds think alike ;)

I don''t think you guys fully appreciate what it takes to replace everything (as he said) as well as achieve that power goal reliably.

Back me up here Mike.

Well this will be my first project but luckly my uncle who work at a few big names in Ca will be helping me. The block is what im am doing rearch on for now. The turbo was just to keep it a daily driver until I get back from Iraq.

So if anyone has some idea for reaching my goal for a high hp Eclipse such as products feel free to let me know.

Don''t get me wrong its going to take some time. Starting in 09 sometime when I get back to the states I will be dropping the first chunck of change into the project. I was think about buy a new 4g63 from cosworth which MSRP is 9,xxx something. I hope to complete this project some time in 2010. Then hope fully those of you in Colorado will see me at the track!

I hope I can hit 750 at the wheels but if not just under the hood will be fine. Lucky my uncle has a ton of connections so hopefully I save a couple k. I have high hope and am very stuburn so we will see who wins the car or me. I do not have any picture of now I just had my wife go pick the car up and there nothing to it has of yet. I will make sure I put up a picture of it before I touch it and will give updates for what I do. If anyone is in Colorado or knows of a club there that will be welling to help me out.

P.S. I won''t lie if I don''t hit 750 as long has I hit 500 I think I will be happy.

yea 500 is crazy fast... have you had a fast car before?
mikkelclay
7/13/2008 6:22:09 AM
Well what do you consider fast? I did have a chevy bretta gt that i moded a little not much and I beat out a Porshe on the hwy once but i guess i would have to say not really. However I did take my buddy jr dragster down the quarter once at a time of 9 something.

What are the chances of getting sponsers to give parts or money? Anyone know how to do that?
EMonz57

dont hold your breath.

I had $10k into my Evo and that only made 405HP.  Then the new owner added meth and a few other things and made 470HP so $10k plus that is all the Evo got

750Hp and replacing everything will cost upwards of $30k anyway.

Doing NOTHING to an Evo beside motor work it takes about $20-$25k to get in that range.  Also dont forget you cant get that HP on pump gas you will need to run c16 all the time to do it safely.   Not to mention how unrealistic 750HP is not only as a goal but for a street I4 powered car.  My Evo at 400 SUCKED BIG BALLS to drive.  So bad that I spent $10k in mods and imediatly sold it after only about 2000-3000 miles and bought the supra.

I dont think anyone who has high goals realizes how much of a pain these cars are to drive with no low end, all the lag and the god awful sound of the exhaust they make with highly modded (trust me videos dont do sound any justice as videos tend to sound good)  These cars get really tough to drive.  they are rough bumpy, choppy annoying and sometimes you fight them to keep them running ect ect

300-400 in a dsm is a lot of power and will make the car move, not to mention is a very realistic goal and easily reachable..   I would personally start there.    A 16g, 20g, 50 trim, any of those turbo''s I think would be enough for you.   I just dont think you realize how much 750 hp would be in a dsm...  And sponsors are a good way to go, but there are a lot of requirements that they require from you..  You have to be extremely dedicated and alot of time to please them.

ya man 400 in the evo and it was pretty damn fast. 750 is unrealistic for 95% of the people out there that have dsm and evos
