i got a 95gs finally got it done. rebuilt head, new timing belt, water pump, and pullies.

i start it and i have to tap the gas while starting it so it wont stall.
it runs around 800 to 1200 rpms and bogs.

i think it is a vacuum leak.
any other suggestions?

is your check engine light on?? my car once ran like that, horrible, when one of the sensors under the thermostat broke.. the check engine light came on once it warmed up and if i didnt play with the throttle when it was first started it would stall.. and the throttle response was horrible.. does this sound similar?? just a suggestion

ok and one more queston, when you first start the car and hit the gas, does the rpm drop?? if do, pull off your sensor plugs under the thermostat and check the sensor.. might be broked lol

ok.. and you still have the same issues.. did you check the sensor, im telling you those are some simptoms my car had, it was just a sensor under the thermostat, one of the prongs on it broke off

ight. noticed that there are two sensors under it. a small 1 prong sensor and a larger 2 prongd one. the smaller one did wiggle a little loose. so i cleand it n stuck it bacck in. drove around for about 10 mins, no more stalling. but my idle is still rough.
should i just run it on a dyno?????

or get a new sensor, they shouldnt be that much, and if it is just the one that goes directly into the thermostat it is just the temperature controll sensor, and i think its like 20 bux.. i dont see what good a dyno would do

should tell me what needs to b done.
the sensor looks fine tho.

well, if you can afford it go ahead and run a dyno, im not sure on what your problem could be if it isnt the sensor.. you sure there are NO vaccume leaks?

that was my first guess. but i cant hear anything. neither can 5 of my friends. i askd a guy today who says he knows alot about dsms.
i told him i replaced the waterpump.
he says i may have a bubble in the water system.......

HAHA thats the dumbest thing i have heard, sorry.. but a bubble in the water system??  no, that is not your problem, you have thousands of air bubbles in your water system.. but you wont always necesarily hear a vaccume leak.. you could have a hose unplugged somewhere or something.. check all your vaccume hoses..

money for what?? are you talking about for the dyno cuz it is free to check vaccume lol... and vaccume hoses are cheap also

10/24/2007 8:27:44 PM
o really. then should i just go to advanced or autozone?
nick_200321
10/24/2007 8:32:21 PM
advanced should have them... why did you find a bad hose?
itsme71190
10/24/2007 8:44:34 PM
no... but i have noticed something else. my intake is sucking in alot of air. i can hear it from about 10ft away from the car.

damn, then thats messin with your AFR, getting too much fuel, you might be better off to run a dyno and tune it up.. and hook a computer up to it, check the AFR..
