I have a 92 2.0L nt.
It had had a spuratic idle, however has ran perfectly for quite some time.
on my way home after my 30 mile trek. It died. I came to an intersection and it idled down after pushing in the clutch.
And then died, did not diesel or sputter. Just went down and died.
It was quite hot today, etc.
Anyone have any idea on what to look at where to start. Thanks

It could be anything from a dead battery, no gas in the tank, bad computer, bad fuel pump, bad coil, etc.
Yes, it could be a broken timing belt.
Does the engine spin when you try to turn the starter?
If Yes: Does it backfire or pop back through the intake?
Without more info, we can only guess.

It wouldnt backfire in the intake... because it wouldnt ignite. You would hear the pistons hitting the valves if it was the t belt

But we don't know that it is a belt. That's why I asked him those questions. I was trying to narrow it down. I have seen the same problem caused by a dead battery.
