Hello - Newbie here. I drive a celica but my friend blew the motor out of his GST last summer. He's got 2k saved up so far but juts told me all the shops said a engine would cost him 4k plus install. This sounded kind of off to me because I know I can import a JDM 3SGTE (Front Clip) for my celica for 2500.
I was wondering what the average price would be for a engine, and engine code?
- My friend being extremly smart neglected to ever change his oil and it eventully sludged and all the shops said it needed a rebuild.

its a 4g63t motor, try to find a 6 bolt rather than a 7 bolt. You can probably get a whole engine for like $1,500.

um.. your friend shouldnt even be driving if he cant take care of something as simple and/or cheap as an oil change on his car

your friend is not to bright... no wonder you joined here to tell the story and not him cause I would have just laughed at him. Gee I wonder why my motor is junk????
Theengineer has a nice Turbo 6 bolt for sale for cheap it needs a rebuild but it is much stronger than that stock POS 7 bolt motor

You can get a race motor for that much dude.
Check ebay for a 6 bolt motor! they are like $1000-$1500
What a retard. Your friend is an idiot. Tell him to get a ****ing honda. At least then he can destroy something that nobody likes.

thats way to much to pay for that. You should be able to get away with under 3k
