I need to get some info on my headlights. I have a white 98 3000Gt and the problem are the headlights. The headlights are turning a yellowish color. Does anyone know how I can fix this or have it cleaned. I have tried everything from buffing it to scraping it but it looks like its actually underneath the clear lens not on the outside. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for your help. I actually called the dealership and they said the lights are sealed units and to fix them you have to buy new ones. He said they are between $600 and $700 per light. I told him to keep em.

why would anyone pay $600-700 a light when 3sx sells the 1999 headlights for like $500 each. thats such a rip off. and the 1999 lights are the ones that are most wanted

You can fix your old ones...

I don't know the specifics...but you take the whole light assembly out, put it in the oven at like 200* until the sealant softens, then pry them apart.  Then you polish them until they are clear again.  Reseal them and they are "almost" as good as new...

Thats what I was actually going to do. Well I dont know about putting them in the oven but I was thinking about taking the lens off and just cleaning them but the dumb parts guy at mitsubishi told me that if I do that then I will not be able to get the lens to go back on correct to prevent water and humidity getting in. I think im still going to try cause I sure as hell am not spending that much money on buying new ones. Thanks dude

You have to put them in the oven to soften the adhesive.  If you don't, you will just end up breaking the lens.  The lens' are Lexan.  I'm sure there is a "how-to" for polishing lexan somewhere on the net.
