A question about engine size on '04 Sportback

When I went to the dealer, he said the engine in his '04 Sportback LS was a 2.0 liter. However, online, it's often listed as a 2.4 that's available. Is there any way I can be sure which it really is? It'd be nice to know and I'm not sure which to believe. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. Could you tell me if it can take the higher grade ethanol fuels? Or is it limited to unleaded 87?

you can go 91-93 and below, but higher grade (racing fuel) hmm...dont think so.

I probably phrased my question wrong. For example, in North Dakota, there's a fuel mix available that's (to my recollection) 40 or 50 percent ethanol mixed with gasoline. Hahah, I didn't mean reacing fuel, though I could see how it would be understood that way. : )
EDIT: I checked and it's called E85.

a mixture of 10 % ethanol and 90%unleaded may be used, provided the octane rating is at least as high as recommended for unleaded gasoline.
octane requirement:
vehicle (mitsu.)design to operate at min. octane rating 87 and octane rating 91
mixed w/ 10 % is o.k.

Just to be a pain I'll point out a miniscule detail ...The ralliart package is 162 HP and 162 torque. The LS is 160 HP and 160 torque. The 2.4 was not an option, it was standard equipment on the Sportback.

no sportback in the states came with a turbo only a 2.4 mivec engine. but in japan they come with a option for a engine. the car is called a cedia and it coould come with a 1.8 turbo gdli engine i believe that is what it is called. but it is a dohc engine 1.8. pretty cool

The EVO wagon is nice, a blend of Sportback and EVO DNA. I wish they would have brought it to the US, then I wish I had the money to buy it. But with a production run of 2500 limited to Japan, they won't be here any time soon. The wagon was offered with an auto transmission as an option(GT-A)...wasted $$. The manual 6 speed was Evo Wagon GT and 280 HP.
When they tested the EVO and the EVO wagon they were surprisingly similar through the rally courses.

BTW, the Sportbacks did not offer a turbo model, only the 4G69 engine was used, so either 160 or 162 HP...LS and RA respectively.
