A question I must ask, its about "ricers"

Okay, so what do we clasify ricers as in the world of Lancers? Meaning, when I had a Z28 a ricer was all show no go, yet the owner thinking he was all show and all go. is that still the case or what? Some think just owning a lancer makes me a ricer, I do not. I feel any car can be a ricer, Z28, STi, Evo, Vette, even a viper! (thats harder tho) so what do you all think of when you say ricers?

I was in the interior section and saw it used many times.

Here is the definition of a ricer:

Ricer is a stereotype. The typical Ricer can be identified by his car, or rather what he does to it. Generally, Ricer will start out with a car that was not meant to go fast (typically a Honda Civic), and attempt to "fix it up," usually consisting of aftermarket rims, lowering springs and an aftermarket exhaust system with a large exhaust tip.

Most Ricer cars (or "Rice Rockets") have the usual complement of stickers proudly displaying features that the car might or might not have, most notably, the Honda VTEC sticker from the later model Preludes, and the plaques from the later model Integras.

Ricers do not exclusively drive Japanese cars. There are quite a few fake Mustang '5.0's and Camaro Z28's out there, as well as quite a few strange looking Neons.

ricer: about 80% of forign import cars (excluding german) that are built up with 'custom headers, CAI, and other various bolt ons, including huge exausts). these mods are done to make the car look and sound better, while doing little for preformance. they usualy have custom gagues that have no function, after market radios that bump louder than their exaust, and are front wheel drive cars. One thing that will definatly tell ya its a ricer is the wing in the back, it looks like they're planning on flying.

I have no wing, but I have a rear window vinyl (DSM - proud owner - doesn't say that, but it has DSM on there), AEM stickers for the AEM intake I have (the intake which helped my car a little), and a GReddy sticker on the back for the cat back I have which I love to death. Yup, I'm a ricer... as I have said.

BUT, my true definition of "ricer" are the old rusty cars that get a huge parkbench wing and a walmart "muffler" ... THOSE, are ricers. We're more "Tuners" or something.

you know its funny, and i agree with you about the tuners vs. ricers cause originally (before this post) i thought (and my friends and i called) ricers were those walmart shopping, sticker using honda drivers that have body kits that havent been painted yet crappy attached to their cars.

i don't think the mods make you a ricer just the body attempts.......

If I had the money for a body kit and all that, I would do it.. body kits look nice, especially on a 2G Eclipse

I dont think i have ever seen a body kit on the 2g that looked nice to me

Then you obviously do not like DSMs. If you want to dis DSMs, go to a Civic website.

Did i say i hate the 2g's...NO! i said i hate the body kits for the 2g's. Your the one that should own a honda you ricer, throw a muffler on it with a 7" tip, maybe some nice flame vinyls or something, put a metal wing, cuz the help so much for that downforce, and dont forget, the sweet 20" chrome rims,

I wasnt "dis'ing" DSM's i was saying the 2g bodykits are all ****. The only thing that looks good on the 2g front end is the 97-99 front bumpers.

You need to calm down.

I like the majority of body kits for the DSMs, whether you do or not. There's no need to get angry at me just because I do not agree with you. So give it up on the, "Your the one that should own a honda you ricer, throw a muffler on it with a 7" tip" crap.

And don't ever say I should be a honda owner again.

Nearly all body kits are ugly...and DSM's are ugly too...

7" muffler.....................hahahahahahahahaha

Some people put the parts on and then bring them to a shop to get painted... it's cheaper that way. Only problem is you have to drive around with white parts everywhere, lol... doesn't look too good.
