Does anyone know about AEM's new CAI system? The V2?... weither its worth the money?

And since I'm on the topic, for a 2G elcipse non-T, would anything have to be removed/repositioned for a CAI to fit up in there?

Thanks guys.

To put in a CAI the only thing you ussually need to remove is the stock intake box.

ya man an intake is one of the easiest installs only need to remove the stock air box and rubber\plastic pipes. you will need to take the mas air off of the stock air box and put it on the adapter and it goes on the new intake

I'm a doof, wahts "mass air" ? .. and what "adapter" ?

i already have a cheap offbrand short ram.. I'm just wondering if CAI is any different.

the only diff from CAI and short ram is the extra pipe that goes under the car to get air from below.

the MAS air is the black box prob contected to your filer with a wire plugged into it. and the adapter you must have on there now other wise the mas air wouldnt bolt up to a aftermarket pipe

my "black box" had no "wire" connected to it when I removed it. And the only thing holding my pipe on is the coupler at the throttle body.

--by the way, I know the different between SRI and CAI. I never said I didn't know that, lol

that is why I thought you didnt know the difference.

and the mas air isnt the stock air box but it is connected to the stock airbox on the bottom. it is a little black box with a honeycomb mesh inside the center it connects to the intake it is what measures the air going into the motor

lol, yup, N/A here my friend. 420a is my baby.

So where does the CAI mount ... doesn't it have some sort of bracket near the filter?

usually it is right where you filter is now so youll get the extra pipe and on that pipe it will have a bracket the screws in on the side of the engine bay...its self expailitory when you look at it

I'm just wondering if I'm going to have to drill a hole or something like that to mount it...

so its going to land right where there's a bolt, or a place to put a bolt? lol... I guess I just dont get it because I'm not visually looking at the thing.

Ya there should already be a bolt where they want you to mount it, as long as you get a good name brand intake. So it sould be easy unless the bolt they want you to mount it to breaks with the treads left in there
