SOHC - Currently used in the Neon and export PT Cruiser; used for a time in the Breeze and Stratus. Similar to the DOHC used in the Neon, Avenger/Sebring, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and Eagle Talon; seriously considered by BMW for the 3-series. Basis for the 1.8, the 2.4, and the 1.4/1.6 used in the Mini. You can read more abou the engine here :
http://www.allpar.com/mopar/2.html DOHC - The Neon, Dodge Avenger, and Chrystler Sebring featured (as base engine on the Avenger/Sebring and optional engine on the Neon through 1999) the Chrysler-designed DOHC 2.0 engine. You can read more about the engine here :

No, thats extremely high.. You should be around 700-800 depending on your car and preference..
Not sure with the 420a(I dont think it does), but on the turbo motors, there a base idle adjustment screw by your throttle position sensor..

i doubt if this is it, but could your throttle possibly be stuck open a little?? your car is idling WAY high, just a suggestion

i checked my throttle and seems fine could it be the tps cause when i rev it the rpm takes a while to drop back to idle.

its good now the idle settles at 800rpm i had to change my throttle position sensor i guess it was giving high readings.
hey can anybody tell me what are the usual speeds you would be at if you shift out of gears at 7000rpm?

You can do that with simple math.
