Ok, i know i"m starting to sound like a broken record.

Did Mitsubishi make several different model numbers for their ECUs for Eclipse GST/Xs?

I bought an ECU from a guy for told me he had a 1997 Eclipse GST 5 Speed. (2nd ECU bought). The 1st ECU and my Orginal ECU have the same number on the Side 5287, E2T61687. Though on the one i bought most recently, the numbers don't match up. The side says 1911 or something like that (don't have the ECU next to me at the moment) Plugged the newest into my car and the car wouldn't start up. Would just continue to turn over. I checked into it and Its not an EProm, so i'm all confused. Could they guy be lieing to me and its actually from a Automatic, or a N\A Eclipse? Does anyone know where I can find model numbers for ECUs? I've been searching and can't find a site that tells me.

Thanks

thats not good.. I cant answer that but ill look.

Did you check your guage wires like i told you. I think you messed something up when installing the guages and that caused the enitre problem. Honestly an ECU is hard to break it is not often you hurt one

ya i'm still looking myself. There's a company over in Florida that sells ECUs i'm going to call them and get one from them. they're expensive (300bucks) but its worth getting the car fixed. I'm going to tell them every single number on my original ECU. lol.

OK, I've ruled out the ECU problem. I've installed two seperate ECUs from 2 Seperate GSTs and unless the planets have aligned and i found the 2 ECUs out there w. the same exact problem as me, There's something more than the ECU.

I'm going to try and install another MAF to see if that changes anything...we'll see.

gah, i'm so tired of this.

sorry to keep bumping this topic, but i had to mention.

The GSX ECU does work on the GSTs. All one has to do is Swtich wires 1&2 as well as 3&4. the GSX has an opposite CAS. But put in the new ECU and i'm still shooting out the same codes. Going to try new MAF soon... ::crosses fingers::
