so wait, on the 2 step u can only rev it to 8k if the clutch is in? im confused... so it bounces at 5500 when ur stopped and "idleing", but if ur "racing" it'll pass that 5500 up and rev up to 8k and bounce?
also how much did that cost and how exactly did you do it?? cause if u did it locally then i guess i'm in luck :-) lol

2-step = rev limiter when car is not moving and clutch is pressed in. the 2-step on woody's car i believe is at 5500 rpm's. this way when he launches it he wiill rev up to 5500 rpms and hold it there, eliminating the turbo lag.

the rev limiter is the same concept as a stock rev limiter. as long as he is moving, no matter what gear he is in, or if the clutch is in, it will not rev any higher then 8000 rpm's

i got the chips from dsmchips.com stage 3 and i had it socketed in chicago, ive been told the evo mas flows about 20% bette than the stock 1g mas. i have the mas sensor and plug but i just need to know which wires go where form one plug to the other. and sk8dudety does that answer your question. i drove the car to get car last night and drives great but as soon as you get past about 30% throttle or into boost it starts bucking, probably bc the evo mas is not in there. but will soon

so the stage 2 rev limiter's purpose if for launching and eliminating turbo lag, that makes since.  and it only stops at 5500 if the car is not moving, got it.  and when it is moving, no matter what gear it is in or if the clutch is depressed or not it'll rev up to 8 and stop... got it, thanks!
 
by the way how much did all of that cost for the chip and how did u find the place in chicago??

it was 140 for the chip from dsmchips and there is a guy on his webpage that will socket them so its all right there and i think i paid 100 for the socket and new caps. so 240 for the chip and socketing. not to bad i would say.

what exactly is socketing?? putting a plug on the ecu so you can hook up dsmlink?

actually i just checked the site under the FAQ section, looks like you cant run dsmlink after this set-up is installed? so this wouldnt be a good idea to get if im daily driving it on 93 octane, then use race fuel on the "weekends", and i wont be able to change my tune at all? or can you use them hand in hand?

i run my daily and its fine on 93 pump. i asked the guy and he said that when you run race gas you can do something but i would just get another chip set for whatever octane you plan on running

thats a good point... plus i dont think i'll be runnin race gas on this set-up anyway... maybe a couple years down the road when it get's stroked and something along the lines of a gt37r gets thrown on there
