It happened to me once and i did an engine flush (most people dont recommend it, but i like doing it) and changed gaskets, its too lil info though to know what kind of leak you might have. Check for oil stained engine parts, smoke on the exhaust and what color, or a n00b mistake of not tightening the valve cover nuts enough.

Check your lower and upper intercooler piping for oil, also, check your intake piping.  Specifically where the breather line from the valve cover connects to.  Next is, how old is your PCV?  Do you have puffs of light colored smoke coming out of your tailpipe?  Do you have oil in your coolant?  Perhaps it's a gasket like Kaede stated.  I'm hoping it's something as simple as oil passing through the PCV or breather hose of the valve cover (both common).

might only end up being the valve cover gasket or seals. Because i had that on my old one. I always had oil puddling in the area where the spark plugs are. We always joked it looked like i had been cooking burgers on my valve cover

Agreed, those spark plug tube seals dry up pretty easily for some reason.  If you have oil around the spark plug tubes, then those seals are shot.

well my guess is then you have a bad valve cover gasket. But the best way to tell is to totally degrease the area. And then see where the oil is originating from, since its pretty hard to tell from dryed up oil.

Don't forget that their is a tiny hole that goes from the recessed spark plug area to the front.  I had a leak there and though my valve cover gasket was leaking, it turns out that the SPT seals were leaking the oil found that holes as it should.  Do as TE suggested and clean the area first.

I don't mean to thread jack, but I was told by the mitsu tech that the valve cover and spark plug hole gasket need to be replace.  How do I replace the spark plug ones?
