I have an 03 eclipse GTS, first car like this I have owned.  I want to get up around 300-350 hp what should I do.  I am installing Greddy cat back and a nice cold air intake, not sure which.  I have made the switch from muscle cars but need help these thing are so diffrent.  also can my internals in the engin and drive train support that kind of power, any help I can get thanks.

Well the best thing you can do is go forced induction in the form of a turbocharger. You unfortunatly have the GTS and that has super sh!tty pistons. So, if you want to do that then i would suggest changing to forged pistons/rods... then when you do that you will need Greddy E-Manage and injectors and a fuel pump. You will also need a new clutch at that point.. and probably a limited slip differential.... and when your finally done you wont be able to put any of that power down anyway because its front wheel drive.

Have you ever thought about getting a GSX?

Yea sebba is right, with the GTS which is different from the GT because it has more power from stock but unfortunetely they have higher compression pistons which as you should know higher compression is worse for forced induction. And getting to 300WHP is not gonna be easy without FI

Ok. what is GSX, and so basically it is going to be more money than it is worth, that sucks, my mustangs where so easy to make fast but sick of rear wheel drive cars

1. GSX's are all wheel drive turbos. Either a 1G or 2G would work, also Talon TSI AWD's are the same thing just a slightly different body style. DSM's are pretty easy/cheap to mod but they do break so take care of it.
2. Yes it would cost more than its worth to get the numbers you want out of your 3G.

DSM = Diamond Star Motors. They include all Mitsubishi Eclipses 1990-1999 (1st generation stops at 94) all Eagle Talons 1990-1998 an Plymouth Laser too.

The GSX is basically the all wheel drive model and it the best for modding, purly because of all wheel drive. The GST has the same engine only its front wheel drive.

They are absolutly awesome for modding.

call Russ from www.tearstone.com and get a built short block.  then find a turbo kit and stab it in 400HP all day evey day.  Or get the RippModds stage 3 SDS they make like 420WHP supercharged and it comes with pistons.

any ideas what that will run, sounds easier just to build my engin with new piston and rods plus 400 is a little more than my drive train can handle right?

your drivetrain can handle it,  youll need a clutch, or maybe a tranny cooler if an auto or sporty.   But at 400HP you car should run low 12.s easy.  at worst mid 12s.  I mean 400hp Evos run 11.8s so add a little slower launch.  also figureing you get drag radials

what is an evo, and I am not into drag raceing I just want a car that looks good and can run fron like 20mph and up, My main concern was my drive train I have a manual tranny so I feel better now, I told by others there is no way to make a g3 fast.

you can make it fast but expect to pay alot of $$$$.  your drivetrain if fine youll just need a clutch that can take it.  Are you serious that you dont know what and Evo is?  Evolution?   my car is an Evo   here are some videos of my car.  http://www.mitsubishiforum.com/m_170050/tm.htm  and yes they are fast from a stop and from 20MPH up lol
