Ok I dont want to here anything on how retard it was blah blah blah.  We all know it was serious he was lucky and now he is alive to talk about it and maybe prevent someone esle from making a bad decision.  Watch the video and read the story i know its long but it is very moving and does make me think twice about the retarded things even I have done behind the wheel.

First off, I am posting this here because it is a very touching thread, and story.. but also because more people will see it here in the "General Section". In my opinion this is something people need to see.. it could very well have an effect on some people before they make a bad decision...

Also, please watch this video before proceeding to the actual story: http://www.onetruemedia.com/otm_site...edium=text_url
(the video he is talking about in the introduction)

Introduction:

So for all of you who don't know me, I am Ben's (leftbraned) cousin and wanted to throw something out here for all of you to see. This movie/slide show is just at the 'rough draft' stages and is of the story regarding my accident. I am also writing a full story from begining to end resulting in all I've been through. I will be working with the mods of this site to post it where need be when finished. The story will affect you more than the actual video but thought you'd like to see a little work so far.

THE COMPLETE STORY OF THE BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER.

In April 2005, most of the month consisted of 60-70 degree weather...that is until Saturday the 23rd. This is where the nice weather ended and my story begins...the story of one young, stupid, unlucky, 19 year old. My name is Ryan Moss, currently 21 going on 22. I Graduated from Brighton in 03'. At the time of my accident, I was 19, the great age where the young adult population thinks & feel that they are invincible. I am here to tell you that you aren't invincible by any means, no matter how old or young you may be.

I am happy to say, I am one of the few lucky people who have owned a SRT-4. I had a black 2005 SRT-4 with the "normal" bolt-ons & turbo kit. To say the least, it was quick. I purchased this car on December 29th, 2004...meaning this car was not even 4 months old when it was totaled. The day started out with overcast skies and had a couple scattered rain clouds. There was a warning in effect for freezing rain later that night. Since I bought the car, I treated it like I would a child. I was very partial to let people driving it, but for some reason, I did not feel like driving my car at all that day. I guess I should've listened to that "little voice". 3 of my friends and I planned to meet a few girls at an Applebee's restaurant, off of Milford Rd. & I-96, for a late lunch that afternoon...the last place that I can fully remember before my accident. The restaurant was about 15 minutes away from my friend Garrick's house, where we all met to car pool. My friend Adam and I rode in my car, in which I let/made him drive. Garrick and my other friend, Joe, took Joe's 98' GSX. While we were eating lunch, we all noticed a hostess checking me out. We finished our lunch and planned on heading back to Garrick's house which was in Brighton. I handed Adam my keys again, and told him I'd be out in a second...I stopped and talked/ flirted with the hostess a little. (Yes, I got her number!) Adam decided that he'd start my car but let me "show off" my car and let me drive out of the parking lot and back to Garrick's. I walked out the door and saw Adam buckled up in my passenger seat, so naturally I hopped into my driver seat. We proceeded to pull out of the parking lot onto the main road, which is the very last memory I had of that day.

Once on the main road, the entrance to the expressway is about 100 yards or so. Once we were on the expressway, a silver 2000 Camaro SS drove by in the left hand lane. This happened just as it started to sprinkle, and I mean it was barely doing that. I quickly caught up the Camaro with Joe and Garrick following behind. I noticed the very cute, young blonde in the passenger smiling...so I decided to give you a little more to smile about. I was in the center lane and the Camaro was in the left...I downshifted and decided to edge him on to a harmless run on the expressway...a race, to be technical. If you know anything about SRT-4s, you know they are COMPLETE torque monsters! When I downshifted, I decided to drop it into 3rd, rather than 4th. My wheels spun for about a second then caught traction. We immediately went from 70mph to a good 95+mph...and seeing that I was actually pulling on him, I decided to keep it going. A car was up ahead of me, so it was either quit or pass the car on the right; I went for the pass. Just as I passed the car, my car hydroplaned and I let off the gas which brought our speed back to the 70-75mph range. At that moment, my ass-end literally floated to the sideways, and we were sliding sideways down the expressway doing 70mph. We quickly caught a dry patch of pavement which sent us off the right side of the expressway down into a ditch...and sent the car airborne crashing through a young tree. This tree shoved the FMIC into the block and stalled the car out...no power steering or brakes. When the car landed, I somehow managed to turn the car to the left so it was parallel with the expressway. Because of the low profile tires, the tire blew and the rim dug into the ground...at the same exact time we crashed into a pile of brush. The combination of the 2 sent the car into a roll. When the car landed, it did not land flat on the roof but instead landed right on the driver's side A-pillar bringing the roof down to steering wheel level. Just as you might think, my face met the roof. For all of you who do not know me, I'm 6'5, so I literally "face planted" into it. The car rolled another 4.5 times, sliding about 30 or so yards on its roof. To say the least, Adam and I were lucky at this time because the car stopped in the middle of a "U" of trees. Adam opened his eyes to the amazement of what just happened and quickly looked over to me. He saw a vision that is said to be one of the worst things ever seen or imaginable...I was hanging lifeless from my seat, bleeding out of every orifice on my face, with the size of my head comparable to a NBA basketball. He crawled out of his window, which was still full shape, to check if the car was on fire and call 911. To his amazement, the car was not on fire and his feelings & emotions were overwhelmed with adrenaline and fulfilling his need to save my life.

Joe and Garrick came running to my car. Garrick tended to Adam and Joe jumped into my car to try tending to me. I was unconscious, so Joe cautiously awoke me. I apparently started twisting and moving around but with the sight of my injuries, Joe yelled at me to stop moving. I listened to him as if I was a toddler playing some sort of game. When the paramedics arrived, they immediately called for a Med-Flite. The firefighters and paramedics encountered the biggest decision...cutting the door apart to pull me out as safely as they could, or pull me out from the back window on the driver side. They decided to exit me through the rear due to time and the sustained injuries (the massive amount of blood loss being the biggest at the time). Within 5 minutes of take-off, the Med-Flite returned to the hospital to the weather that took a sudden turn for the worst, It wa

damn....you hate to hear about stuff like that, but at the same time it should be a warning to all of us... kind of reminds me of my uncle who was flying down a two lane road in his vette, overcorrected, and sent it into a roll from a hillside, the roll threw him halfway out of his driverside window that was rolled down (no seatbelt) and broke his neck instantly.

That guy is very lucky to be alive, not many people are able to eventaully walk away from similar incidents...isnt the statistic like at from 60 to 70 mph your chance of surviving a car crash goes from like 80 to 50 percent...

The best part about all of it, is it happened to him and not his good friend that was with him..  Living with killing your best friend or ruining his life would be harder to live with than ruining your own by far..

This happened to my friend not too long ago.  Showing off and hitting a ditch at 70 HEAD ON to a dead stop, the girl in the back seat only had a lap bar belt and he face literally slammed into the center consol at 70.  I live in Ocean City Maryland ( coast of maryland) and she was instantly medavac'd to University Of Marylands Shock Trama unit because noone around here is close to quailtied for her condition.  UMD is at least 175Miles away.  The doctors told her mother the same thing.  The do not know if she will live.  It was scary because i was literally almost in tears punching him in the arm telling him to let me out.  I might of looked like a pu**y but im alive.

Its scary as hell.  And i for one have had my share of hospitals in my day have Cancer and going through Chemo, Radiation, EKG's all that **** that comes with it and that does not touch what this guy had.

He is truly a lucky guy, as you all know I am a Medic in the Army. A few weeks a go I was working in the ER at Ft Campbell and this dude had just totalled his 2G Modded to the max. (I will try and get pics) anyway he was hit by a Semi doing a buck 10 on 41A his entire car was smashed and he was lucky enough to only sprain his ankle. So it goes to show you that no matter how good of drivers we all are or some cases think we are. It only takes fractions of a second to have a life-altering event. So the next time we get behind the wheel of our cherished rides (myself included) Just remember dude's story or the guy I just told you about. Or any other terrible accidents we hear about all the time.

Damn...... That ish was crazy! Glad to see that hes still alive. This is definately gonna stick everytime I go out to the illegal which I am goin to tonite. I know I know you probably thinkin this guy just saw this video and read the story and hes still goin out to the illegals. What can I say its a habbit. I was out there once and an STI was racing a beefed up 5.0 they raced up and down the street about 4 or five times..... well the last time they were headed back they easily cleared 100mph well in the direction they were headed the street T'ed with another street not well long story short the 5.0 was smart enough to start breaking early so he stopped in time but the STI was tryn to show of so he kept goin  a couple feet more.... well those couple of feet costed him an STI. He saw he wasnt gonna make it so he tryed to turn to the right and go onto the other street. yea he didnt make it.... he hit da side walk and ramped in the air.... his car literally cleared a 6 foot fence and he hit a light pole the ploe fell and the converters on the pole blew up. Dont know wat happent then cuz everybody split not even a minute had gone by when the cops started to show up.

**** well he's a lucky guy, happy it turned out that way, I crashed doing about 80mph in my last eclipse and the other guy who was involved had a 2004 maxima, i was coming back from auto zone and i was pulling out of the plaza and a monte carlo started burning out, i was with my friend jeff. So i wanted to try to show him up, i did a burn out right next to the monte at the stop light pulling out. We waited and pulled out side by side but spotted 2 cops and my friend hung out the window and told him watch out for the two cops, so we stayed side by side and when we cleared the cops vision, everything began, i downshifted and punched the gas, he also started speeding up, we came to another stop light with us two at the very front which was pefect to race. We started off the line with me in the right lane and we got our cars up to about 65 - 70mph when i noticed that there was a maxima in the middle of the road turning around, this is a two lane street, ALL ONE WAY. He continued turning around and as i saw the path clear i hit the gas again and got to about 80mph and then he took his final turn and slammed my drivers door as i passed, i got thrown off the road and blew out 3 of 4 tires. When we got thrown off the road we were heading for a telephone pole, i pulled the wheel and got back onto the street flying sideways and pulled my ebrake and came to a stop about 150 to 200 feet ahead. My car was a complete loss, i blame him but i blame myself too, i for one shouldnt have been speeding and he should have paid better attention to the 3 MASSIVE do not enter signs before that road. All in all i learned my mistake of driving idiotic and luckily neither i was hurt or my friend was either.

Can't imagine how does he really looks like after the accident and when he's still in his car with his lifeless body.
It's really a lesson for everyone, especially if they got a new and a great car.
It's really great that you survived that and got a new life ahead.

that guy is lucky. a friend of mine had bought an srt-4 after he owned a scion tc. he was drivin wit 3 of my other friends wit him. well  my friend was being a showoff and punched it to 85. while he was smashing, a car got in front of him. my friend swerved out of da road to avoid crashing into da car. when he swerved his back tires caught dirt and lost control. da only thing dat stopped him was an electricty pole. he couldnt get out of da car becuase he was smashed in. everyone walked out of da car but they came out dramatized

yeah there's nothin' really that you can say to something like that srt-4. just happy he's alove and walking. Yeah one of my buddies had a 350z and decided to run from the cops, and he ran a red light and smashed into a semi- and bounced right off of it and clipped a building and took out a bus station waiting lounge. Sadly the car blew up on the impact with the semi and my bud had no chance.
