car problems

my 96 eclipse rs will downshift sometimes when i let off the gas, it downshifts too hard and it almost stalls when it does it. many times it DOES stall!    it sux. sometimes it shuts off when i shift from reverse to drive, but other times it shuts off just when it downshifts very hard.

is the stalling problem transmission related?

can someone tell me what the problem is?  is it a sensor? how much may it be to fix it if i do the work myself?

lets ignore for a second that the 96 eclipse RS is built in chicago, by american workers, using a totally chrysler built powertrain.

Of course, your f-150 was probably assembled in canada.

that is hilarious. for your information, i drive american muscle and it would wax your piece of rice any day of the week, i am positive. i built it myself. and i know everything about it.

but for my girlfriends stupid eclipse i wasnt gonna waste my time, i thought i would come to an eclipse forum and ask the people who know these cars. but obviously you know nothing becuz you havent even given me ANY answers, except that it could be alot of things and i wouldnt understand......once again....THIS IS A FORUM, why not help someone out who has a problem.    anyone besides this jackass know anything?? it doesnt matter anyway, her dad payed a mechanic to do it already, but i havent found out what the problem was yet. and i was curious.

secondly, you have no idea what kind of car I drive, so i suggest you stop your rambling right now.   the amount of cars ive owned is no doubt larger than you can count, so dont lecture me on sh*t like that.  And keep your idiotic "rice" comments to yourself, as only a real twit would ever judge a car by something as childish as that.   (remembering, of course, that an eclipse RS is built in chicago, using a chrysler powertrain.).

third, I couldnt give you any answers for multiple reasons, the first being that your description of the problem was so vauge and undefined that it was basically worthless.   Besides, since you "know so much" about cars, theres really no reason to help you at all, is there, brainiac?

 

face it, you have no idea about cars.  Putting a small block in a 30 year old car does not qualify, as that requires about the same amount of skill as assembling a 100 piece puzzle.

I told you that the problem was NOT diagnosable over the net.  Whether you believe it or not is really not my problem, as I couldnt care less.  A vauge description of a "jerking" and "stalling" problem could actually be several hundred things, much less 3 dozen.

sure anyone can do tuneups on these cars, but im talkin about SERIOUS modifications to these cars, like engine rebuilds and tranny rebuilds and engine and tranny swaps, and easy stuff too.

i know what these cars are made of and how they work and how to put them together

i know what everyone of these cars can do, and i know what my car can do. and i know what most mitsibushis can do. and i doubt you can beat me, so i am talkin trash. it is an arrogant statement, and i dont care. hey....you may beat me with your car......but i mean cmon what are the odds of that hahaa.

but like i said before, i probably could fix her car but i wanted to make sure what i was gettin into b4 i jumped on it. i also had time to kill since i didnt have access to a shop until the next week. but you dont know anything. or you would have helpd me. you are still hiding behind your lazy "it could be alot of things" statement.

This sums up my opinion of 96rs because obviously he knows nothing about cars. I dont know much about cars and i could probably take a ballpark guess at what this problem is. By the way you have raced all these cars have you?  Where? and what is your ocupation?  I dont understand how you can claim you have replaced all these engines among other things and then raced your cars and then turn around an say that you dont understand a ricer.  You are basically putting everyone who has every fixed up an american car a step lower on my list by being such a lazy ass and not just trying to figure it out.  You drive an F150 big deal, does that make you a better person than the elcipse next to you at the stop light? I think not.  Have you even looked under the hood of your supposed girlfriends eclipse or maybe that hasnt struck you as a good idea yet?  For starters maybe you should ask the mechanic what happened to her/your car? Get a life man. And you dont know what I drive either and no you can't beat me on the track with your ford (found on the road DEAD) f 150.

Hey 96er, if you realy do know so much about every f**kin car on the planet then anwer any one of these questions about my 87 mazda rx7,  how many pistons does it have, how many cubic inches is it.  is it fuel injected or carbed.  where in the world was it produced,  how much do you think you could bore it out. and why does it burn 1.5 quarts of oil stock from the factory?  and what do you consicer a rice burner

Just an idea maybe its your fuel system getting clogged. I would somtimes down shift and push the clutch comepletly in to come to a stop and it would die or just about die, then I bought some fuel injector cleaner and changed the fuel filter and my problem went away. Or it couyld be you (TPS) Throttle position sensor or some kind of idle miscalibration. Just somethings to try out. And if those dont fix it aleast they'll all be adjusted right

92 crx? you mean del sol? spoon doesn't dot turbos, and a dual turbo setup would be like kicking yourself in the ass unless you have unlimited funds...
