I have a 98 3000 GT that I have added a K/N air filter ,a Turbulator and a spacer on the air intake plennum. After I did this my check engine light came on. Does disrupting the air intake flow cause the sensor to read differently and thus cause the check engine light to come on or do I have another problem? It runs better. I appreciate any help.

Did you remove the engine MASS thing on your intake???

A KN filter and a correctly installed plenup spacer shouldn't cause a check engine light at all. I'm sure you must've left something disconnected or loose. Doublecheck your work. WTF is a Turbulator? If your referring to the "Tornado" intake system, take it out and see it it's not too late to get your money back.

No I did not touch the mass air intake system, just put the K&N filter on. Also inserted the Turbulater. it is an insert in the air intake hose that causes the air to spin. The spacer is an aluminum piece about 1" wide that went between the throttle body and the intake plenum.

LOL
WOW!!!! Sorry to say, but that is a HUGE waste of money. Throttle body spacers are alright.

Well to answer your question captbubba3, YES messing with the intake can through a code. I can not remember the code off the top of my head but what is happening the computer is seeing more air than its used to. The computer see's this and thinks there a problem, or even the O2 sensor will pick up a TO LEAN mixture and through a code that way. Try and rest the computer( Disconnect the batter for about a 120 seconds or longer if youd like) see if it throughs the CEL again. If it does bring to to AutoZone or a parts dealer that can run a ScanTool on it for you and come back here with the code, if they dont have the book to figure it out. Its nothing serious so dont stress about it.

Go to autozone or Advance auto with the OBD-II reader and have them read your computer. They should do it for free.

Thanks for the info, I plan to unhook the battery first then go to autozone if it still persists.
