my check engine stays on in my 97 rs 5 spd. when i check the codes with the key method it blink a 1 then pause then 2 pause 3 pause 1 pause then 5 pause 5 end. so 123155 basically. all pause lenghts are the same.. but i cant understand this.. what would the codes be? i thought 12 and 31 and 55 but there is no 12 in my book and 31 jus says evap failure what does that mean?? anyone?

Well I went to auto zone. they have a deal where they'll check your code for free and clear the code if needed. I recently got that code. Something like small leak in evaporator or something like that. I was told it was because I fueled the car while it was running. Apparently there's some sort of evaporator in the fuel system to help with emissions and sometimes when fueling the car while it's running causes some fuel to get in the evaporator. Hope this helps a little. I have a 97 rs with about 107,000 miles on it. The check engine light only came on 3 times ( power steering pump switch, oxygen sensor and the evaporator)

could you teach me how to do the key method? not that my check engine light is on, but just so i know what to do. or should i trust autozone on such stuffs? thanx
