just a piece of info i found, and i belive its true just from what ive seen and worked on.
The 1G "7-bolt" engines suffer from crankwalk no more than the 1G "6-bolt" engines. The majority of crankwalk cases that affected many "7-bolt" turbo Talon engines were found later in the revised 2G "7-bolt" motors found in 1995-1997 model year Talons.

I've been trying to tell folks that the 1G 7 bolts were fine......
The 2Gs were just a handful as you see within those two years and not the entire 2G 7 bolt line up
Well, at least you'll believe me, lol.

i think half of the crankwalk stories we hear are all in their heads and usually end up being another problem.
just like a friend of mine swore up and down he had crankwalk on his 95 tsi, couldnt tell him any different.
i removed the clutch fork, greased the pivot and its been fine for the last 2 years

The crankwalk issues all happened because those parts were made on Fridays for those cars built for those 2 years, lol.

This kind of makes me feel a lil better, I put a 1g 7bolt in when my 2g crankwalked. Tis hole time I thought i made a mistake.
