Sebba

nope. Always worked fine.

LOL i always doubted it. Im thinkin that the previous owner must have had other things on the car at the time.. and then taken them off. My guess is around 250hp to be honest.

On A side note I have to re give sebba some props on how clean his engine really is because I must say that is the second cleanest I have seen on the site for car engine bays... the first cleanest we all know whos that is

I wouldn't eat an egg cooked on that exhaust manifold.

Your ride is almost new. It is easy to show an almost new cars engine and call it clean.

All due respect but if it were a car show Sebba would win. The 2G is a more well rounded ride. All that Silvercoupe has is a swap. And from the pics you had someone else do it.

Judging on a scale from 1-5

Silvercoupe
Exterior 1
Engine/Performance 4 Great swap but really isn't show quality. Designed for performance.
Interior 2 Assuming it is stock except for guage cluster swap and guages. No pics to support otherwise
Sound 1 No pics to suppport otherwise
Total 8 points

Sebba
Exterior 3-No points added or deducted for vinyl
Engine/performance 2
Interior 2 Guages, Carbon Fiber, Red paint brings the presentation of the interior down.
Sound 2 Looks like a flip out DVD which would score higher. No other supporting pics to bring up the score.
Total 9 points

Shreff99 has no gallery to judge

41k on my car and it gets more abused by rain than any member on this board I have an open hood vent, thats right it reguires like a 3 hour detail to get as clean as it is in those pics. whoop di do I have a stock manifold so what?? It aint dirty to bad they are just that color. I would never want my motor to look like that. It is a cluttered mess. Clean parts but my god got a good plumber? the IC piping and intake alone could rap around the whole car

Yup, my engine bay could use some cleaning. I'm not too worried about it though, it's my daily driver...rain and heat on it daily. The outside shell can be wetsanded, washed, and waxed and two minutes later it's either dusty or it's already got water drops on it. Is it worth it to me to keep my DD at show quality? Nope. It's not for show, it's for go, hence the stock body...When the world gives me a perfect day of dry, no wind blowing around, no rain, or bugs, and when my motor stops making heat, is the day that my car will be totally spot free, until then, it's my DD and it will look like a DD. No, not rusted and falling apart panels, or paint peeling off, just dusty with dead bugs on the nose
I'm too old to make a car for show. There's enough of them driving around to do that as it is. Plus, I bet the cars with more "look at me" parts, get just that from cops too. Not me....Total sleeper

And I totally respect that.

I was just stating that you didn't build the motor for show. A show motor would have a polished head, polished and chromed motor mounts, brackets etc.

Your build was for performance and it kicks ass. I just cannot give you a 5 without any hours spent grinding and polishing for show. What would you give the guy that show up with a similar swap that put 600 hrs into polishing?

To be clear there is no disrespect meant. I just think alot of engine's, even at higher mileage, would be just as clean if the owner washed with soap and water and a little mother's.

I would bet. My intake, head and exhaust are all gasket matched as well.

This is why I do all my own motor/drivetrain work. I know...

This to me is beauty..

This has obviously been wiped down before or after a race. Shep's engine bay shows what's important to "all go" mindsets.

(for you Emonz) Buschur's Evo 8 is another motor of beauty

Now you see what I like and a lot of what performance oriented guys like on their cars. Sure they could put on a mirror finished SMIM or IC piping, but it'll just haze from the heat. That's why my IC piping is black and why my engine bay is "blah". My motor is revved and revved hard and anything shiny will no longer shine after a good month..that's a waste of extra $100 for a shiny piece of metal, IMO.
Body kits..
Body kits slow you down on a track. Engineers put a lot of effort and science into the stock fascia. Body kits are only made to make a car look "good" (that's relative). The makers of those kits didn't put any money in a wind tunnel before the kits were sold. Do you see my mindset now? Plus those folks that wrench on their own cars (like me), I refuse to be afraid to put my dirty, oily hand on anything in that bay. My hood is always closed when I'm driving, I don't go to shows, so what's the use of bling in my the motor?
I'm not justifying my stock bodied car for a win...just know that guys like me, put their time and money to go faster.

hey batman i noticed one thing i believe you left out of your points system there. Creativity!! IMO there are so many 2g's with kits and small upgrades. but what about someone that swaps a 4g63 into an avenger and converts it to AWD. Thats the biggest thing in my book. I really think in the tuner world, looks is the last thing that should be judged. But thats just me

I figured out how to make a gallery myself finally..it's under the title "Shreffy's '99 Eclipse GS-T"...I just got my pics back a couple of days ago so I'm still working on them resizing and all..I also want to add a couple of pics like one of my stereo system and more of interior...I'll do that tomorrow hopefully...no motor pics though, damn it!

"bdhunter" should be in this too..I gave him his 2nd nomination that he needed a llong time ago plus it'll give us 3 2g's in the running ...wow, by the looks of it, noone likes mine..I guess I'm gonna stop dumping the money and time into it. I don't get it cuz it turns heads around here and people are always stopping me and asking me about it LOL. I've shown it a few times as well and it got a ton of attention at the shows...Oh well.

Both of those engine bays are awesome. Clean and purpose built. I would give both of them a 5 where I gave silvercoupe97 a 4 for performance.

Well all accounted for, I have to say that silvercoupe deserves the win much more than I do. The love and devition to his car far out does anything i have done to the Eclipse. To me there isnt a rating you can put on that.

I respect the accomplishment as well. I was just stating that the 2g was more well rounded. If it were a best mod competition then silvercoupe would win. But by that scoring silvercoupe would also win against the 1g and EVO engine bays pictured in this thread.

It will be interesting to see how the voting end up.

Good luck guys.

Um, didn't you spend extra effort to put the engine and drivetrain into a heavier car?:)
