i just looked at the threads and im posting alot so i apologize for lack of knowledge...anyway i just did a routine maintenance on my car, nothing i haven't done before, change the oil and filter, filled washer fluid, added very little to the coolant and brake and power steering. There were no leaks and everything was fine. I took my car out at night for a little joyride and noticed that the acceleration was off, i was flooring it but didn't seeem to be pickin up as fast as before, when i reached speed of 100 mph i heard a lite wierd screeching, and when i parked the car in the driveway there were all these clicking sounds underneath and a burning smell under the hood...i know thats alot but anyone run into similar problem? I appreciate all the help you guys been givin, maybe things will get better in morning i hope

at what RPM did you notice the drop off in acceleration? did it completely bog down or just not accelerate as quickly as it did before?

it wasn't accelerating like it was before...normally i don't have to floor it to get good acceleration but now i was noticing that i was pedal to the medal, i thought that maybe i was shifting too early...

huh, thats weird cause my mom has an 06' galant and she had recently bought it (Not even 6 months) and when she was coming home from work one day she told me that she was flooring it yet it still had trouble getting up to 40mph. I think it was a vacum problem (if there is such a thing)

or something, I can't really remeber but just thought I'd let you know your not alone.

By the way it hasn't happened since.

did you mess with/change the spark plugs, wires, or coil pack?

the clicking sound is just parts cooling down you could say, that is normal. and the burning smell could be some overspill of some of the fluids you put in.
