Is there any difference between the 2007 and 2008 Outlander? I was going to get a brand new 2008 one but I found a used 2007 one for 25k with 24,000 miles on it. It has all three packages and some other extra goodies. I think I read on here that in the 08 model, they fixed the high speed wind noises?

I have an '08.  I think the wind noises are still there.  But the one difference off of the top of my head is the F.A.S.T. key being much smaller.  Chrome interior door handles I think is another.

Recently went to the Canadian Auto Show, and saw the Outlander 08, as well saw the 08' Outlander at the Mibsu Delaer while servicing.

New --> V6 Badge
--> F.A.S.T. Key
--> Doors Chrome Lock Knob
--> Door Panel (Interior) **07 Model have this huge area thats hard plasic with a arm rest (Leather or Fabric) & 08 Model have the same design panel, but that area of hard plasic, half is cover with paddings**

In addition, the utility cargo bars have been deleted from the XLS models and in Canada, the cargo cover has been deleted as well from both LS and XLS (the 07 US models did not have the cargo cover at all).

The 08 LS has FAST key, body colored exterior door handles.

Agree! Utility bars are off for the 08'. I dont get the fact why did they delet the cargo cover. (Yea, my XLS 07 nvr had a cover, sucks!)

The LS have fast key too now? It is a option or standard??
There is 3rd row of crappy seats now on the LS for a few more bucks too.

{Not Sure about this one, but shorter antana???} need to do some research on this

(For Canadians or maybe others --> most of the outlander I saw on the street in Ontario, Canada, they are mostly 08', and all of them had rear scuff plates and window visors. I'm not sure does Canada have them as standard, or it was add-on.)

The new plastics on the interior of the doors is a big improvement in my opinion - it makes the interior look a whole heck of a lot less cheap. It's now the same textured plastic that is used on the dash.

I agree that the new door panels vastly improve the look of the interior plus they seem to be more resistent to scuffs.

The FAST key is standard on LS now and IIRC there is no more Convenience Package in Canada becuse everything is included in the standard LS like in the US.
The only thing that would concern me if I were to buy a 08MY in Canada (not sure about US) is that the rear seats don't slide anymore in the LS at least. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is my recollection.
I really enjoy this feature in my 07 Outlander and I wouldn't want to lose it.

The bumper protector or the visors are not standard on any model.

In Canada, the LS can be had in 5-seat and 7-seat configuration.

The shorter antenna is because the O8 in Canada now comes with Satelite.  So it's shorter but it is now static.

And I think they deleted the Cargo Cover in the XLS because it's no convenient to store it when you use the 3rd row seats and you have the subwoofer (3rd row and Subwoofer are standars in the CND XLS). Some people may never use the cover if they often use the 3rd row, so they don't want to pay for it.  Hopefully that was concidered when the set the 08 prices!

I just went to the dealer last week and looked at an '08 (US). The interior door panels are defenitely nicer than the '07's. Match the dash better.

BUT, the '08 I saw did not have chrome interior door handles. ??? Maybe its a transition...

The lower side garnish had the new chrome on it which was nice.

I'd say go with the '08. Its a little more refined. Unless you need the rear utility bars, for like was said earlier are no longer there.... oh yeah, the 12v outlet was in the center console even though their was no rear DVD, so maybe thats standard now?

Also the front grille is different.  On the 07 it's pretty straight, but on the 08 it has a different look.

I'd go with the 2008 for sure.

I wish the side garnish was standard (not chrome though). It would greatly help with the paint chipping issue.

Does the 08 really have a different grille?? I cant find any pictures to compare. Do you know where I can find them??

The differences are mostly minor and subjective, but with the ingenuity of the guys on this board you can easily change/update/modify nearly anything to the '07 that the '08 has.

If you're gonna pay $25K for a used one with 24,000 miles...skip it and definitely get the '08.  You should be able to get one with all 3 pkgs for under invoice price easily.  Here in MD there's a dealer selling the '08's for $500 under invoice and they even have (2) new '07 XLS models which they are selling for $25,390 w/Sun&Sound, Nav, and Luxury pkgs.

Good luck.

At least in Mexico there is a difference between years, 07 looked good, but the 08 looks even better IMHO..

FYI you saw an SE which has chrome on the lower side garnish and does NOT have interior chrome door handles (although it's supposed to based on a MMNA press release...not sure why it doesn't.)

I wouldn't buy a 2007 with 24k miles for $25,000. I have seen 2007's with 3k and all 3 packages go on eBay for $21,000, so if you keep your eye out, you might find a better deal. If you could find one at a price like that, then buy used and save $10 grand.

Hey-

Tdford used my pic in his post - woohoo... The doors are definitely nicer, people....but the car still drives the same - GREAT...

Oh, BTW - Cuffy is right. I got a brand new 2008 XLS - with everything on it (cept the entertainment screen for rear passengers) and I paid like $400 over invoice. With shipping (I had to go to Kansas to get it) I paid $1000 under sticker...There ARE deals to be made out there.
