im guessing since the GSt coupe should run around a 15.2 or so. Id bet the Spyder would be near a 15.5. yes they got to be slower stock for stock because they are much heavier but dont hold those times to me. I have seen stock GSXs runs 15.1s so id expect near the same from a GSt with a good driver that is

ill throw out my personal **** time, ive only been to the track once n that was before i started my build up n i had a toasted clutch (metal on metal) valve nock so loud you though i spun a rod n zero traction from goin through the water box on crappy wal-mart tires. i have a 97 GS-T coupe n i ran a 15.5 so if i had to guess with a good driver a stock coupse could run 14.5 but for a drop top that extra weight id say a solid 15 is doable

I dont know about 14.5 maybe a high 14 or something. cause stock for stock the GT v6 eclipse is faster than a GST and the GT runs 14.9s-15.2s (fed spec of course)

i dunno what GT your speaking of but i used to eat up the 00-03 GT's like nothing. either way most people get the drop top for the ass factor n the coupe for speed. even tho im only FWD n the awd takes me from the launch i can usually catch up quite easy. its all in preferance. with my new setup my FWD is ganna be pointless on stop light to stoplight races so for that i wish i had AWD but at the track on some DR i think ill be just fine

the best time ive seen a magazine get on a stock 2g gsx was 14.8. usually the gst's are 15.3-15.4 the launch makes these cars fast in the qm because third gear in a stock dsm is horrible

stock for stock a fed spec GT eclipse is faster than a GST. fed specs run in the high 14s stock with a good driver. when it comes down to FWD drag racing it is a drivers race if the cars are remotly equal.
and yes BFG comp T\As work wonders LOL my buddy was hitting 1.8 60fts in his RX7 with them I was shocked since AWD gets the 1.7 1.8 area

it isnt every day some stock GSt will come near that. FWD is tough to launch consistantly. but that is a lil faster than I have ever seen one run. although my Buddies AWD TSi hung with my EVO side by side from 50-100 I was bone stock and he had an HKS cat back, 1G BOV, Injen intake, and hard pipe upper IC (stock Diameter I think). bone stock an 03 EVO runs 14.0s or somethimes as good as 13.8s so I was impressed with his car not have much for mods and hanging, I mean neither of us pulled at all...good race

hey guys ill let you all know my crappy but consistant times at the track last october. 98 spyder gst greddy fmic, injen intake, greddy type s,3"turbo back w/hi flo, with 235/35/19 nitto 555 on.first run-15.3 second run-15.4,third run-15.3,fourth run i let a friend drive-15.3,fifth run-15.1 him launching at 1500 rpm, that is the only way the spin happy machine would maintain its cool, anything above that is gonna spin through 3 gears, both dam tires!so im wondering if i go back with 16's and drag radials, the car runs its ass off and definately feels like a mid 14 sec car but the track proved that wrong.

guarantee that time was on slicks. it isnt every day that someone can get almost a full second better in the qm than a car magazine tester. and thats the problem with gsts too, the more power you make the more you spin unless you race with slicks. you pretty much stay in the 13's forever in a gst on stock tires, you just keep trapping higher and higher.

if you are manual and he's auto, then you have a chance but you will still probably lose.
if you are manual and he's manual, then you will lose.
if you are auto and he's manual, you will lose bad.
if you are auto and he's auto, you will still lose.
i take it that you are getting the drift here. even though his car has neither FI option, it is still light and fast.
but there's nothing wrong with losing. who knows, he may be a bad driver and you could end up winning. then you will have the bragging rights and you can decline any follow-up "oh i missed a gear", "my clutch is slipping", "i had the a/c on", " i had the radio on" races.
just don't race for money.

both have except the STi is only a manual the EVO has auto and manual spray mode. I have it on my car and it came on all 03/04 EVOs
