To anyone that does not know what a DSM is...

Diamond Star Motors....A joint effort by Mitsubishi (three diamonds) and the Chrysler Corporation (penta-star) to build some of the most incredible automobiles in the world. The vehicles were produced with the names Eagle Talon (89-98), Mitsubishi Eclipse (89-99), and Plymouth Laser (89-94). DSM cars were assembled in Normal, Illinois.

89-91 (1Ga) 92-94 (1Gb) 95-96 (2Ga) 97-99 (2Gb)

Quick List Of Differences Between Years

1G Pros Came with a 6-bolt block and they are believe to be immune to crankwalk (BUT 92.5 AND UP HAVE 7 BOLT BLOCK)--Better flowing cylinder head ports--Bigger connecting rods through 92.5 model year--Bigger intake manifold and 60mm throttle body--Stock 14B turbo has most power potential of stock dsm turboes(only on manual cars, automatics came with 13g)--90 model year came with air-to-air oil cooler--steel blow off valve that holds quite a good amount of boost--stronger suspension than 2g cars--both lsd rear diff and abs on 92 models and up

1G Cons 7 bolt block more susceptable to "crank walk"--Smaller exhaust manifold that is prone to cracking--smaller o2 housing--On pre 92.5 model year cars, only single piston calipers available (dual piston on 92.5 and up on awd cars)--Weaker 3 bolt rear differential--Pre 91 only came with ABS OR LSD....not both--Only some models came with an E-PROM ECU--Worst ABS system among the DSM's

2G Pros More efficient combustion chambers--Better flowing and most durable exhaust manifold--Better flowing o2 sensor housing--Midrange quality ABS system among DSM's (2Gb had the best)--AWD cars came with dual-piston front calipers and 11" front rotors (FWD had single piston with 10.2" front rotors)--4-bolt rear differential--Updated exterior/interior design--Most 95 models came with an E-PROM ECU

2G Cons 7-bolt block more susceptable to "crankwalk"--Stock T25 has little to no potential--Smaller cylinder head ports, less airlfow--Smaller intake manifold and 52mm throttle body--plastic blow off valve that probably struggles to hold stock boost--96 and up had NO E-PROM ECU
