DVD In Motion Hack - Info Requested

Question for US Nav Owners - can you make inputs into the Nav system while your vehicle is in motion? 
 
The Service Manual has an inspection procedure entitled "The navigation system can be operated while the vehicle is driven." 
 
However, in my XLS, I can operate the Nav system at all speeds, regardless - I just can't play a DVD.  If this is different from the US versions then it tells me a software hack to gain DVD in Motion is possible.

In my US 08 Lancer GTS I have full access to the navigation features while moving.  Only DVD Video playback and AUX Video Input are disabled while in motion.
