Ok - Waiting for verification from rcostin that this works, but thought I'd shove them up here anyways..
2 versions : one for v109
NR261EM_NoDvdProhibit_Patch
and one for v111
NR261EM_NoDvdProhibit_updated_patch

Again : rename the delete the .txt extension to get the rar back..

Also waiting on word of whether the update CD worked : It'll be nice to have a more accessible method of updating the firmware, avoiding all this unplugging/unlocking of hard-drives...

Otaku, where are you located? I'll donate my Outtie to see if this works if you're in the SoCal area.

And I did.
So. The image works well (after we modified the version tags, Otaku knows about). The MMCS discovers the CD and is loading the image as a regular update.
BUT... Because the internal version of the program remain the same, after bootup the system detects the CD as a NEW version and tries to load it up again. You are prompted if you want or not to make this upgrade and you may safely choose NO.
And this is it, enjoy the update

can you explain in more detail what is the procedure? after unrar those files i obtained a patch.exe file.
1. how i can find out what version i should use on my mmcs - the 109 or 111 version?
2. what should i do wuth patch.exe file? it is enough to burn it on an empty cd and the put the mmcs into cd drive of the outlander?

thank you!

rcostin now has the iso image up on his site..
It should just be a simple burn, and insert..

Indeed. It is here.
Right click and "Save as ...". Unrar the files and burn the ISO on CD. Insert the new CD in MMCS, wait for the update to finish, cancel the other, insert a DVD and enjoy the movie.
And, as always, TAKE CARE WHEN YOU DRIVE AND WATCH DVDs

Looks like the link is one directory out..
This _might_ be the one
http://www.deltainfo.ro/manuals/mitsu/outlander/MMCS-E-DVD.rar

yeah :

Hmm..
Some sort of an acknowledgement in the archive would have been nice..

Sorry
The comments are in romanian, as archive comments.

So the file is available:  MMCS-E-DVD.rar, size 12,906,811 bytes, MD5 35fdcef5494db8adf9541d7fda909395

This is compatible with MMCS units mounted on Outies sold in ONLY in Europe, software NR261EM. This particular image is based on the E version, latest official available from Mitsubishi Motors.

Because in a previous message I posted a wrong link, I fixed also that location to point to the right archive.

I unrared the two files and burned to CD.  However, when I insert the CD it tells me to check disk.  Am I missing something?

*deep breath*

"Thanks to Otaku (http://www.takingthingsapart.org/) and Brian for their help."
Now that is an interesting perspective.

Hey jsrd.
My pleasure : there is still the aux-in-motion to fix : I may get the chance this weekend to look into it.

I only have loading.kwi for 2 models ( the EM and the UM ) and have produced patches for them both.
If you have a version I have not seen, then let me know.

Which patch for the USM (un!ted states) should I use?  I'm a little confused.  I unzipped the rar you created, but it didn't produce an ISO file, instead it produced 2 kwi files.

Loading.kwi
Alldata.kwi

Should I just use that?

On a side note, are you guys working on a bypass for the "OK" button every time the navigation starts?

Thanks again for all your hard work!!!

Why is the word "u n i t e d" blanked out from this site?

Hmm..
Perhaps there should be a "features we want/want disabled" thread ?

count me as one of  the confused--we had a post for the UM version, and the EM version--the EM version has an ISO, and UM does not?...are there possibly any issues with copyright etc?or have I missed something?   I bumped the UM post--do we need to swap a loading .kwi?

Heh..
Exactly.. I made the patch : someone else can produce an iso ( rcostin has volunteered for this :) ).

My Version info is : 261EM 1.09

Anybody tried this on a Pajero ? I guess it's the same thing as a Lancer or an Outlander isn't it ?
