Hey I am new to the forum. I have a 2001 Eclipse, that I'm looking to do some minor modifications, cause it's very slow. It's a 2.4 liter, I thought it was single cam, but recently discovered that it's twin cam. That should tell you all how much I know about engines. But since I'm here, you Mitsubishi lovers can help me learn. So since all that is clear, let's talk about what can we do to make it run a little bit faster. I was thinking on finding some good headers, Cold Air Intake, and a good exhaust all the way back to promote the air flow. I think that should give me around 20 more horsepower. Any other things that I can do to boost the HP, will be welcome from you guys. Thank you!!!

The longitudinal 4G64 was the largest variant, at 2.4 L (2350 cc). Early models were 8-valve SOHC, but a later 16-valve DOHC version was also produced. All used MPFI with a 3.41 in (86.5 mm) bore and 3.94 in (100 mm) stroke.

I'm not sure if my car is SOHC or DOHC. I've been trying to find out. I thought that if it was 16 valve, it had to be twin cam, but I'm mistaken about that. Ithink it's a SOHC after all. Well thank you for the info Wicked Outlander.

The engine on my car looks like the image, but without any modification.
