im looking into getting a new car, so i decided i would look into the 2g eclipse gsx.  how do they drive? like are they smooth, how is the reliability, and how is the power curve?  im not expecting alot of torque because i know they create more power up top, so for just normal intown driving will i be able to stay out of boost?

the only really bad thing to worry about in the turbo 2nd gens is Crankwalk.  use the search feature on the site to look up what crankwalk is b/c we get tired of explaining it so much.  other than that, you are good up to 400-450whp on the stock block.

i know what crank walk is and what to look for, i was just wondering if anyone has any personal experiance as far as how they drive and stuff.  i know its going to be a completely diffrent animal to my mustang.  my mustang is a lower rpm lot of torque where this is a high rpm with more power up top

Its definetly a fun car. And i think youll be suprised the amount of power that they produce low end since the turbo is small enough, you get to full spool around 3k-3200 rpms. And with the AWD your will be able to out-launch anyone. I used to have a 95 TSI-AWD, and it was a really fun car. Unfortunately i had bad experiences with it, but it was just because of the previous owner. So it really wasnt that the car was crap, the owner just treated it that way.

All in all i think youd be happy with it. Just make sure you look it up and down for any warning signs that they car has been abused.

the T25 must spool alittle before than I hit full boost at 3400 with the stock TS B16g.   and you wont out launch anyone... you will out launch alot of people though
