electrical help please!!!!!!

I was complaining about my head unit dimming my lights earlier, so I went out to unplug the lights on the door panel, cigarette lighter, and ash-tray because I got tired of watching them dim. When I took out the light on the cigarette lighter, I guess that the positive terminal came out of the light assy. and it grounded out on the center consule somewhere. Well anyway, now my GAUGE illumination lights don't work. The brake light, ASC light, and all those work, but it is just the white ones that let you see the gauges in the dark that have seemed to quit working. (The center gauge illumination bulbs don't work either.) I took the gauge assy. out to see if there were any bad contacts, but none were burned up and no bulbs are bad. Anyone who is good with wiring diagrams or schematics, I need your help. Thanks,

I have not checked the diagram in the manual yet, but I would bet you burnt the ground wire close to the lighter. You have checked the fuses?
