Electrical Short problem

Ok. Today I was driving home from a friends and then about 10 minutes later I went to leave and my car wouldn't turn over or even make a starting noise. Later that night when I got back my dad Threw jumpers on and when he started it the lights came on, my whipers came on and then the brights came on and the lights burnt out. The car never started though. I just took my entire system out and traced the power wires I could find in the last few hours. Has anyone had this problem? How did you fix it? Also does anyone know a good site to get wiring diagrams off of because I found ****.
