When I left off the clutch a lil and give it a lil gas like im inching forward, I hear this pounding sound like im rinding on bear rims and they have flat spots and im trying to do a burnout. It only happens in first gear. Umm you ever rev you car up and dropped it into gear and hear a loud pound its like that be faster. I check the motor mount my front mount bolt fell out replaced it and I just changed my trans mount, changed the master cylinder cause it was leakin. still happens. I can't get it to too it all the time I noticed it happen often in stop and go traffic where im constanly hit and lettin off the clutch, also when the ground is wet Ill get it. I at a point where Im jerkin the car because im lettin off the clutch too fast or burnin up the clutch, just so it won't happen again. I tried have them look at it at work 3 techs couldn't get her to act up. There prognosis is that I can't drive a standard. I'm thinkin its something with the crankshaft. IDK

sounds like your not letting off the clutch right and the engine is about to die. Maybe the mechanics are right

Thats what I thought at first so I gave it gas one time and it just speed up the noise, the when I let off I hears something like the clutch/flywheel l was still spinng like they're warped IDF'n Know.

so when you rev w/ the clutch in and dump it like ur gonna do a burnout it still makes the sound? also, when you let the clutch out does the car jerk?

Yeah but just once. I was using the burnout as a referecen to the sound. It jerks only when I left off the clutch to fast then give it gas.

so nobody but you can get it to make this sound and do what it's doing... have you had a friend try to drive it? or anybody else but the shops?

Yes zeeer!

I sound crazy huh? It rarely happens but I noticed it happen more so when in stop and go traffic, lights, stop signs, parking lot. I can get sometimes when other ppl are in the car with me but for them to do it they can't, my mom is always stallin the car (she' forgets to downshift and tries to take off in high gears), one of my other friend is always burning up my clutch (she'll slowly start to let off around 2,500 rpms

and keep down on the gas paddle)

why dont you get a tech to ride in the car with you.....most will if they arnt busy....and recreate the problem in the parking lot (cuz that sounds like where it usually happens) and do some stop and go driving?

im still going on a driver error here. It sounds to me like your saying it happens when you let off the clutch to fast. That means that the car is in danger of stalling and the engine and car will buck alittle.

yea i was just trying to make sure that it WASN'T a driver error. not sure i've ever seen anybody ask how to fix a driver error. but yea, my del sol does it once in a while b/c the stock intak is so constricted that it has to be at about 1500-2k rpms just to go. not a problem now :-D

Actually RCJ thats not a bad idea for something to check. Maybe a usual tune up is in order here with spark plugs, and intake filter

Another guy is saying it might be the through out bearing, and another is guessing its the input/output shaft that making this rattling noise. It's not driver error this is the only car I've had this happen too and I can't figure ito out 4 $#!t!!!!

I've had them in the car with me but couldn't get it in what lil time I had. I feel you guys tho cuz its givin me headache trying to find this problem, Im almost at a point were Im like the car drives fine F{}(k It!! but some ppl say I should find out what is is before it causes something mayjor. I might just get the engine and/or trans rebuilt and call it a day. When I bought the car the guy said he just got the clutch replaced and kept tellin me how soft the clutch was. Also back it 2000 4 years after they bought it brand new from the dealership they hydrolocked it and got the lower end rebuilt, gave me the receipts. Hope that helps

intake mani cleaner, plugs, wires, distributor coil (if needed), oil change, fuel cleaner, double check all mounts, air filter. after your sure that all of this has been done, if it still does it than either you need to learn your car (took me like 2 weeks to get my del sol to stop doing it) or, yes, you have other problems.
