Has anybody done or have done any research on swapping in a evo8 drivetrain into a 3gen eclipse (4cyl)?

The head can be and maybe the motor as well. but that isnt worth it really either well not the block the head is better flowing for a turbo

why cant the drivetrain be done?

so the head of the 03 eclipse is better for a turbo setup?

no the head of the EVO is better the block of the EVO isnt worth buying for a eclipse. reason is you can build up the 4G64 to be more powerfull at the cost of the EVO block

the Eclipse frame is not the same as teh EVO so the drivetrain will not bolt up

so there will be alot of fabrication involved right?

for the drivetrain?? it wont happen lol. It will cost too much to even do logically. youd be better off buying an EVO at that point

There's alot that needs done to do the drivetrain. Remember he didn't say it WASN'T possible just not a financially feasable idea. Alot of custom metalwork will need to be done to fit the drivetrain in there from the Evo.

do you know of anybody who have done the drivetrain swap? I never heared of anybody that has done it. I just want to know if the response of the car is worth the price once the swap was done.

I have never heard of it being done. I would imagine it would have the same handleing essentially as a GSX with better suspension.

the EVO is a I4 you have a V6 so no the head is not able to fit your car...your car has 2 heads EVO has one. But your car can make huge power with the stock head just all built up bottom and top

If anyone has done it RRE would be the one...But I highly doubt it has been done and prob wont be done. No offense but it doesnt make sence to do it

Thats ALL it is, even if you just want to do a 4g63(evo head) swap on the 4g64, their are water jackets in the block that need to be plugged for it to work.

Buy a turbo kit for the 4g64 and call it a day, if you want awd buy an evo.
