s2k rear end conversion?? you have any pictures of what that'll look like?? and i know those honda's are light, but do you really expect low 13 second passes with only 170-180hp?

b/c i just got done dropping 4 grand into the car... couldn't afford another 3 grand for a turbo kit... sorry to dissapoint you lol
for the front end conversion it's really not that much money....
front bumper 85
fenders 100
core suport 73
head lights 140
hood can get them as cheap as 200 but i'm going CF so that's about 450
i'll be doing all the work myself so it'll be all in all - 850. i'm sure by the end of it all i'll end up w/ 1000 in bondo, tig wire, primer/sealant and misc other supplies.

Props for doing something a little different, but i cant help but have some things running through my head. (again, not trying to be a dick)
1) Not long ago you where struggling to put a/c in your house, now your putting cash into your DD (i assume it still is)
2) I was under the impression you where going in the direction of some form of AWD Mitsu?
I just cant come to understand what prompted you to do this... and what motivations you had?

Sebs... ur one of the regulars, you of all people know how f***ing indecisive i am lol. the AC problem is taken care of for less than the GSR cost me lol. i just completely remodeled my kitchen so i'm doin aight, getting ready to go all hard wood floors. I appreciate ur concern but honestly, i'm doin aight in the money dept. I paid off all 4 of my credit cards that were holding me back from having any kind of life and now that i have money :) i'm enjoying life again lol.

ur tigwelding that coresupport on? interesting... i would've assumed you would mig weld it... unless any of what your welding is aluminum, but it isn't, is it?
RCJr9186

Rcj, i know honda, i deal with them all day, and i will be highly impressed if you pull a low 13' second pass. I'm sorry but i completly doubt it. I have nothing agaisnt anything your saying, and you know i'm never one to disrespect, but bone stock gsr with neo tunning, in a del sol. You will not pull a low 13, other wise everyone would have that swap done.
Do alittle research on actual times that people are nailing with that swap, and your going to be quite surprised. A few months back we swapped a GSR b18 c1 obviously j-spec with a type R lsd transmission, every bolt on you could think of, including 4-1 header, CTR cams, fidanza flywheel, 4 puck unsprung, Skun2 intake manifold, with match ported 60mm throttle body. Full magnoflow exhaust, and a chipped p28. In a gutted ef hatch. Mind you it has a sunroof but still, the best time i ran was a 13.3.
You have to realise, yeah the GSR comes with a 180 hp, but it's to the crank. Hondas because their front wheel drive loose alot of horse power through the drivetrain, and foward of motion rule. Those guys that are nailing high twelves, I can assure you they have 200-220 WHP. Now add some spray to the gsr, and you'll fo sure hit the low 13's, but now were talking about power adders.
Again, i dont mean to stir you up, or poke fun of, but trust when i say your not going to be making the numbers you claim to be.

what are you welding on the fenders?
RCJr9186
9/19/2007 11:43:04 AM
Sk8 you have to cut the fenders of the del sol and the EK and weld them together in a certain spot to ensure the fitment.
Gus - i can totally appreciate where you are coming from and don't take it personally what so ever. w/ the catback, flywheel, pulley's, and a tune i was only esitmating 180whp... if you don't think i could reach that number than i'll go with your word since i'm (again) only estimating. one aspect of the tune that i should put in there is that it will be dynotuned, not street tuned. i'm really not worried about my 1/4 time anyways b/c there isn't a 1/4 mile within 100 miles of where i'm at. lol i'm really only intersted in HP numbers.
