Fuel cut?

Ok guys i bought my evo with a bov and what seems to be a MBC under the hood,I don't have a boost gauge yet so i don't know if my boost is spiking but if i had to guess i'd say thats the problem.So here it is, ok every time i floor my car not long after it  cuts out or something and kind of sputters the rest of the way i can feel it try to correct itself but it does it every time in every gear.

you need a tune my friend and a boost gauge.  for the time being if I were you id adjust the MBC so it loweres the boost more just to be safe.  your car will be slower but shouldnt hit cut off.   do you have any other mods?

Nope stock,ive had the car 2 mounts and cant even enjoy it.Until i get a tune could i just take off the MBC and run it stock until then.

yeah you can do that, or just turn the mbc down to stock boost for time being

just lower the boost like I said.   Your prob trying to run just a tad to high.  and as air temps outside cool down when you have a MBC your psi will be higher by a couple PSI.   So if it was running good in warm weather but not so in cold then it is just a little to high

lefty loosy.  the screw comes out (towards you) and it will lower boost,  that all is assuming yours looks like a screw like the average MBCs do.  Also keep in mind they can be very touchy so try it like 1\4 of a turn at a time.   in other words turn it a little go for a test run if you still cut turn it some more and so on untill it seems to help out

Im picking up a boost gauge Saturday what should i set my boost at 20PSI?

what year car?  and stock BOV or not?

2003 and HKS bov.

SEll that BOV it SUCKSSSSSS!!!  I have one too and it is horrible just search around youll know why.   With that said I wouldnt even set the boost higher than 17-18 cause I had the same setup and my car whould hit fuel cut left and right.

I have now the APS duel vent which I only got because everywhere I read it seems to have the best drivablity with the Evo (I havent tried as my car is storred)  The only negitive to that aps valve is supposed to be that it leaks after 26PSI at the vac nipple,  but they have little fixes for that too so it can hold 30-32PSI

So with that bov 20PSI no prob and then anything higher were talkin fuel pump and all those goodies.

well with any BOV 20PSI is fine..... except the HKS cause it just sucks on MAF cars

buy a rbov that would be better it then the hks, they have good parts setting aside the bov, but yea i have an 03 evo i have my boost set at about 19-20 some days ill boost 21 if its really cold out side, but yea dont go passed 20- at least try not to.

you do can do what other people do and buy a fuel pressure regulator and turn up the fuel but i wouldnt advise it just get the fuel system upgraded and do it right, and it makes you and the car feel better about racing.

unless emonz says somthing dont do it i just dont think its a smart thing to do

Get one of those new recirculateable Tial BOV's.... if they are out yet

they should be out by now

Well Tial has 2 new BOV's. One is an Atmospheric (Q) and the other is a recirc (Alpha Q) they have already started selling the 'Q' however they havnt gotten any of the 'Alpha Q' in yet
