Does anyone know about replacing fuel injectors in an eclipse? I think mine need replacing and I wonder if I need to take this to a shop or if it's something that can be done in the garage at home. I'm having hesitation and choking up to 2500 rpms about 90% of the time and it's getting worse. The only thing that fixes my problem is fuel injector cleaner but I want to fix the problem for good. Any suggestions?
Also, does anyone know when the 99 eclipse is supposed to have the timing belt changed? I've heard 60k and 100k.

timming belt should be done every 50,000 to 60,000 miles. is your car turbo or n/a. i would change the fuel filter for sure.but i would check to make sure that the injectors were the problem before changing them. and yea they can be done at home they just plug in,you just have to take the fuel rail off 3 bolts i think then they just plug in.

60k I would do the belts and a STOCK water pump kit only if the pullies are not leaking anywhere.
120k replace all pullies, water pump kit again, and belts
If it is a Nonturbo change those to 100k and 160k.
This is what I do and have done for years. Never had a problem.
As for your other problem, after you answer 96awd the answer will be put up.

My eclipse is non turbo, it has 62k on it. I've replaced the serpentine belt, spark plugs and wires, the front o2 sensor, front wheel hub (drivers side), and oil changes every 3-4k miles. Where is the fuel filter on this car?...Thanks.

Here let's get it all out of the way.
Year
Make
Model
Engine
Since there are 6 or so different types of variations and/or codes this will help.

if your car is a turbo then yours in on the firewall right next to the battery.

they are in one of two places. if turbo on the passenger side on fire wall next to the battery. if n/a on driver side on fire wall behind battery. on some of the 96-99 n/a they are on top of the fuel tank.
