Ok so I wanna finally get some gauges for my car, I wanna be able to see whats going on, I have been reading alot and searching evom alot and again like most things them seem very biased on the brand of gauges just like everything else. So I found these and they were mentioned at evom and claimed to actually pretty accurate and supposably tested to be just as good as Defi. Personally I cant ever see myself spending 300 bucks per gauge, thats just crazy, so heres the link to what I think would be good. If i get these I'm gonna get a boost, oil presrure and egt gauge. So I want your guys opinion in these. I might purchase them tomorrow but wanna see what you guys say first.

Oh I have seen those glowshift gauges, them seem pretty neat, but I kinda liked the proshift ones because they match the stock instrument cluster color.

Enjoy, and please let us know the outcome, specially for myself since im all tech and theoric and im more about keeping data of my engine more than running it

I can vouche for the Prosport gauges.  I have an electronic boost and EGT gauge.  I like the self test sweep the needles do on the electronic gauges.
I have some pics in my CarDomain if you'd like to see.
I'm boosting at 21psi and there is one other that I know of boosting 25psi with them without issue or accuracy errors.

You can also get them from the Prosport site.

Here's what they look like now with the rings painted black.

Here's what inspired me to get them...my buddy with a black STi

[quote="evossuck"]so i finally got it wired up correctly!!

i guess the way i had it wired up before made the gauges actually red not "amber"...because if you look close the color didnt match the STi's dash...but now it does!!!  also i got it wired up so that white is on during the day (due to them being smoked out and cant see them during the day) and its "amber" during the night...it took hours of testing but i finally found a wire that made it work...also i ghettoed some pretty badass test leads outta screwdrivers, wire and electrical tape!! :D  :D

i didnt get done before nighttime so i dunno if the white helps out during the day yet...

heres some pics:

white:

amber:

***Notice in the amber pic that the headlights are on and in the white pic the headlights are off....

ill post up what its like during the day tomorrow...

I looked at them before I bought them and they are really easy to see during the day and night with the way they are lit up (white during the day and amber at night (or green/blue, whichever color gauges you get).

Lol, thanks for the comment bud.
Did you know that someone with a Talon put an Avenger front end on?  It's a blue Talon (painted).  I tried to look for it on Talk, which is where I originally saw it, but I can't find it anymore.  I think the old pics were removed along with the reformatting of the site and the guy just hasn't posted it back yet.  It doesn't look that bad really, it's kind of along the lines of an Eclipse front end on an Avenger, just backwards, lol.

Here's some painted pics
http://www.teamasylumracing.com/Gallery_Eclenger_painted/index.htm
...the site is kind of odd though because I couldn't view the entire pic because it was too big and there wasn't a scroll function.  I guess the designer made it to fit on a higher resolution set screen and forgot about us 1024 guys, lol.
Let me see if I can find that Talon with the Avenger front end.  Both conversions are "different".  I don't know if either are ricey, but you know how it goes, some like it and some don't, lol.
Besides, now I have to find it, lol.

well you know TECHNICALLY it isnt really ricey since both are stock bumpers... the thing is i've always fancied the viper and some dodge fron ends... dont get me wrong i LOVE the eclipse and way more stock, but my front bumper is crushed thnx to the old owner and i dunno why it came to mind that both cars being so similar might share the bumper with an easy convertion... so i was jw, and lemme say that that "Eclenger" as they call it there looks mad nice seriously... I'll try to look for it as well and see if i can find something similar the only thing is that it would miss the eclipse logo on the nose XD (which if you look closely seems like it has the same downwards angle as the eclipse stock bumper, not so sure bout the headlights though)

Ha, I beat you to it, lol

Except for the LP, I think this actually looks better than the Eclipse front end on an Avenger/Sebring!

Whoa it looks gorgeous!!!! and wtf with the taillights?!! i swear to god i was thinking about black tailights last nite (i hate altezza) i even photoshopped a pic of my babe... i wonder if thats tint or if its some kind of cover.... it really looks nice, and IMO it doesnt look ricey (but im sure someone is gonna flame it in less than 4 hours haha) Im not into the ricyness but im very custom about my stuff and i want something to stand out but isnt way out of the line (or includes bondo whatsofreakingever)  And yes if theyre ever black the letters stay there

To steer us back on topic (guilty)...
You'll like those gauges GotBoost.  I'm sure the Defi gauges are GREAT, but there's only a certain amount of $ to accuracy I'm willing to pay for.  There are a lot of gauges that are accurate and I don't feel the need to link all of them together.
If I hadn't been introduced to these, I would have gone with plain old VDO gauges, just to have the stock look...I'm not very flashy if you hadn't noticed, lol.  I like the walk softly but carry a big stick, saying.

Again, during the day they are still easy to see.  I used to have AC Autotechnic's Invision S7s and they were hard to see during the day because they were lit with very weak lighting and glared with sunlight on them.
Even with the sun on the Prosports, there's no glare, it actually helps since the light goes right through the smoked lenses.  You won't regret getting them.  Just make sure to post pics of them installed

prosports look good.  they look like DEFI.   DEFI's are not as good as every claim. The boost gauges are not accurate.  they read 2-4 PSI higher than what really are running

I forgot to put a daytime pic of my buddy's car, so here it is.

They match perfectly with STi too.

I forgot to add, that they are much clearer than what you see here during the day.  You'll be able to see the needles and numbers without worry.

thanks everybody for all the help, i have decide that those are what i'll buy, which are the boost, egt and oil pressure. the only thing I looked at the site and all the boost gauges are mechanical, only one boost guage was electric and it wasnt the same as the ones i wanted, it was 60mm not 52. Am im missing a part of the page or something??

Im gonna order them right now and silvercoupe97 dont worry man, i'll have pics up as soon as i do the install. I'm gonna order them today, so I figure that by next week i should have everything. Im ordering the a-piller from lancershop the one with the tweeder cut out in it. But thanks again for all you guys helping me out, you guys are the best here, this is why i love coming to this site.

For the Prosport site, it's a little confusing at first, but once you click the "amber/white" gauges you'll need to scroll down.  It got me the first time too, lol.  The 60mm are actually their newer size, they carry the 52mm gauges too.
They have an electrical boost gauge too.  I didn't see an electrical boost gauge in the original site though, I may have just missed it though.

ahhhhh, i kinda ordered it already and it said it was the mechanical one. Is that ok??

4/2/2007 5:57:50 PM
Lol, yeah, those are fine too.  I just recommened the electronic boost gauge so that you will have the 3 gauges to do the needle sweep for the opening ceremony instead of just two on the A-pillar.

oh, I think the only eletric one i got was the oil pressure, so I guess i'll have just one that moves huh lol

...and the EGT gauge.  It's electronic too.  It will do the sweep as well.  I have the E-boost gauge and EGT and they both sweep...pretty cool stuff.  It's actually a good way to make sure the gauge is working...for an E-gauge anyway, lol.
No big deal though, lol.  They are cool gauges whether electronic or manual.

Well since I have one that wont do the start up i might put that one in the middle. No biggie, thanks silver for all your help with the gauges stuff.

I sent them a message aking if they did have the amber/white 52mm gauge in electric, if they have it im gonna try to get that instead of the mechanical one, either one wont matter to me but i'd rather get them to match at least a little. I'll let you know what happens.
