HI....


I'm looking for the exact location of a temperature sensor of a mitubishi galant 1.8I 08-1990....i thought it was right underneath the inlet-manifold in the engine-head(sorry don't know the right technical word for it .stupid dutch guy)


Because my engine runs pretty okay in cold dry weather but runs really bad when it's warm and dampy especially when accelerating.

well, i cant really tell you where it is, as there was never an american galant with a 1.8 liter engine installed in it.


 


however, if it runs poorly when damp, its probably related to the secondary ignition (spark plug wires, distributor cap, etc), and probably has nothing to do with the coolant temp sensor.

Ive got a question to anyone that is willing to help i own a 1977 galant and wish to make it into a Sleeper and i wouldnt mind some advise of what to do as in engine mods for the best performance.


But i want it still to be silent i hope that you can help :)

theres another problem with that, im afraid.


mitsu didnt sell cars in american until 1983, so theres absolutly no information over here for anything earlier than that.

Well is there anyway that ild be able to convert it into a something like an Evo or earily model lancer even. and how hard would it be. cost envolving etc.


Its weird really because its a chrysler galant but then mitsu brought it out and created the sigmas and the lancers from it so sorry for the confusion

ive got my workshop manual infront of me and it says that the American counterpart for the Galant is called the "Dodge Colt" and the UK counterpart is called the "Colt Celeste" so i hope that helps the confusion a bit Thanks :)

the american colts were mitsu lancers (or mitsu mirages, depending on where you were located).


the mitsu galants (over here, anyway) were always their own cars.

can anyone tell me information on doing a motor swap in a 94 mitsu eclipse going from a 1.8 litre to a 2.0 what would be some parts that i would need to replace and do they sell like a kit that can come with all this stuff? thanks for your comments.   Shawn

i just got new brakes and tires on the car and now she is willing to take off before she never was. I'm glad it is fixed.


But your basically saying it is possible?

hello im the proud owner of a 1989 mitsu colt with a 86 1.6 ltr engine, now i was wondering if i get the vr4 engine will a 5spd cordia gearbox fit? and all go easly into the car? i think i will need one mod in the engine bay , this is the mount facing the cams?

Hello.  I am the owner of a 1988 Dodge Raider a.k.a. Mitsu Montero.  Its the two-door, 4x4, 4 cylinder model.  I love this vehicle and am thinking about mechanical restoration.  Where do I begin?  The engine is greasy everywhere.  It is not my main mode of transportation so that's not a problem.  I've got a 2003 Montero Sport.  Hope it lasts as long...Tongue

hope you can help a fellow out.  I have a 95 talon tsi awd and it can never seem to keep oil in it's head.  i thought that it might be from not enough oil, but after some research i found that this was not the case.  is there anyway to test my oil pump and or anything else I should be looking at to help me on my search.  if you need anything write me back, i do car stereo.  thanks for your help.

I hope you can help me.  I need to know why my 1994 Galant will not start when it is wet/rainy.  If if rains or if the car is on a grassy area that is damp, it will not turn over.  I was wondering if there is some type of condensation building on the starter that will not allow it to fire.  If so, how can I keep the condensation off.  Please Help!!

I have a '94 Eclipse GS but it will not idle.    I just replace the air filter, fuel filter, and was about to replace the pcv which by the way I don't know where it is.   If you can please tell me what might be the problem it would help a lot since this is the only car I have.    It goes off any time I come to a complete stop and is very difficult to drive on traffic.   Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Been lookin all over internet. everything i read says that 93-94 Colt Vista AWD 2.4 uses same transmision (W5M33) as AWD eclipse.  but the 1.8 AWD vista is a W5M31.  and the older (84-89) 1.8 engines are the same ones as 1G 1.8 N/A (4G37)  and its a 6 bolt.  Do you think the 2.4 4G64 or 4G63T will mate to W5M31?

phat1478..  intake, downpipe, exhaust, pulleys, cam gears, injectors, fuel pump.. list goes on.  first things though, boost gauge, intake, and your downpipe/exhaust.  also if you port your intake mani, These few things and you'll feel a huge increase.  MORE FLOW=MORE POWER

My 1992 Mitsubish Expo has died--for the 2nd time in 2 weeks.  I absolutely love this car and am desperately trying to keep it going.  It has 169.000 miles.  2 weeks ago it died in the middle of traffic.  I coasted to a stop.  All the lights came on across the dash.  It was towed to a repair shop where diagnostics were run.  It appeared that the distributor was the problem.  It took a week to find a part, and it was a rebuilt one.  It was running very rough, and the timing belt had to be replaced (not a chain--a belt, I was told).  I was also told that the "motor mounts" were worn through, and that some vibration would be normal.  Looking in my rearview mirror at the back windshield, the vibrations were so bad that the windshield was blurred.  I drove it like this for one week, and last night it died again.  Same thing.  I heard a slight click when the engine cut off, and I coasted to a stop.  All lights were on across the dash.  The car has been towed to the same repair shop this morning.  It cost $700 two weeks ago the first time these guys worked on it.  I really don't think they know what they are doing, which is understandable.  Mitsubish Expos are rare in Horn Lake, Mississippi.  Any advice or insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated.  I am a 7th grade school teacher, and definitely NOT car savy.

My motor mounts on my eclipse were actually broken, cracked right in half.  The car never shook that much though.  I'm not sure what would cause the car to die, but the shaking may be explained by having broken balance shafts.  The worn motor mounts may have caused the balance shafts to fail.  The balance shafts help eliminate engine vibration by having a shaft that spins at almost twice the crankshaft speed in the opposite direction and "soaks" up most all of the harmonic motion created by the crankshaft.  When the Balance shafts go out, you'll definitely feel the engine and car shake a lot more since the shafts are still in place and are more or less contributing to the crankshaft's excess motion.  Maybe this might be the case, maybe not....but i hope everything works out for you and good luck.

Thanks, SpyderGS, for your reply to my post.  I printed it to show my mechanic.  Guess what?  My Expo died again this morning.  That's 3 times in 3 weeks.  First it was the distributor.  Then it was the timing belt and the fact that a connecting wire had slipped off its place.  This morning the car quit as I was going through a major traffic intersection, leaving my handicapped son and I stranded exactly in the middle under the traffic lights.  Fortunately, 2 nice men pushed my car off the main street onto the shoulder.  My mechanic was called, and he sent a tow truck.  I'm beginning to wonder if I'm being taken in by this guy.  He seems very nice and up front.  Maybe he just doesn't know what he's doing?
