Headlights?

Hey do ya'll know anything about head lights. I want some that have a little blue tint to them. I hear sylviania makes some called Cool Blues but if they are the same ones my buddy put on his Grand Prix then they lie. so if you have any suggestions then yell them out. The only problem is they have to be legal!, also if you have any advice on White Neon, instilation, where to buy, etc.

you can buy blue tinted bulbs from eurodezigns..... they are a great bulb actaully i have never heard of them until my friend put them on his prelude. They have lasted longer then a year and they look good and they are legal you can get them on ebay or there website which has a fitment guide www.eurodezigns.com

And the neon where do i find that?

Are you talking about underglow? If you are I STRONGLY recommend not getting neons. I recommend L.E.D.s. LEDs last longer and are quite a bit more durable. BUT also make sure you get a decent quality set due to the fact that the low quality will have "Hotspots" whic means areas of stronger light and areas that may not be lit up.

i would go on ebay and get a whole new halo angel eyes light assembly. they are fairly cheep.

Those angel eyes are those the headlights or is it underglow, because i just got Silverstars yesterday and man they are white

angel eyes are projector head lights they are bright white and they have the neon halo around them.

oh ya i know what those are. But its too late i already have silverstars, but not that that is a bad thing. and about neon and LED what is the difference?

they are a brighter beam of light. as for the neon it is just a looks thing makes it look awesome.

so what would be better if you really want that cool square look under the car. neon, or LED

neon are alright but led are longer lasting and use less power. they are also somewhat more reliable.

That and the neon are more fragile. The neon bulb takes a hit the bulb inside will likely shatter whereas LED won't I've beaten the HeLL outta the set I have and they STILL work.

so can you get a cool square under your car or is that just the miracle of hollywood and video games

No miracle there you CN actually do it. And now with the LED revolution you can make the lights do patterns and blink to the music and whatnot.

ok now on to the difference between instillation and cost. I dont know much about wireing and electrical equiptment. is it too difficult to install or would i need help. I've also heard that LED needs placement so the light is in the right direction. and with neon all you need is have it on.

ok if you get a strip of led's that lets say you are going to put on the driverside rocker. the strip would have a ground and a positive connection either screws or wires. all you would have to do is run a power wire to a toggle switch than to the strip and than ground the strip. and that would serve the on/off lights. "also make sure that the voltage reg is build into the switch or you will blow every led in the strip". now if you wanted one that beat to the bass or make a pattern. you would need a box that would do it for you, or you can buy a strip that comes with the box built in either pre progeamed or you would have to program it.

you've probobly seen a third gen so where is the best place to put the bulbs when i get them, and how many do i need?

hey how do you know so much about cars?

well as for the place ment some people place the under the car on passanger and driver sides under the rockers or a little farther under the car. behind the front bumper on the radiator support and bedind the back bumber. but it is up to you if you think it looks good or got an idea try it. You want to find the strips of leds it isnt 1 big bulb it is about 100-1000 bulbs depending on the led that is used they are small but bright.

as for the car thing blow stuff up and fix it trial and error and some helpfull people. as for electronics well i have played with electronics and leds for for awhile. and i am almost done getting a degree in computer networks administration. what it boils down to is play with stuff and if you like doing it tinker with it.

Here are my recommendations on the whole subject. I've installed many LED/Neon sets on various cars. First thing to bear in mind is that Yes direction will matter but not as much as you're thinking. As long as you aim them at the ground you should be fine. 2nd thing is I dunno WHAT kind of led's Get is wiring but every set that I've done with the exception of the LEDs I put on my car they all came with 4 bulbs 2 long ones and 2 shorter ones. Long ones on the sides of the car short in front and back. Now they also had only 2 wires with plugs on them one wire at each end on 3 bulbs and the final bulb only had 1 wire at one end. Now the way they work is you start with a side (long) bulb and I usually route the the one wire that goes to the control box into the engine compartment and through a grommet in the firewall. I then mount the control module where the customer wants it and run that wire to it. Then I Look for the best placement for the side bulbs. Ideally you want them as close to the edge as you can without being able to see the bulbs themselves from a distance. Unless you're looking to merely light up the center area and not really get the light bright at the edges (All a matter of preference) After I find the spot for the side bulbs I'll mount the driver's side bulb (The one with the wire going into the cabin) and then route the cord that's left from that bulb up over the rear axle keeping it close to the body and out of the way of moving parts and I zip tie the cord in place. Then I connect the small bulb w 2 wires to the wire left from the long bulb. I again locate the spot that would give the best effect for the lights and give me a decent spot to mount it and mount that one. I again find the best route for the wire and again tie strap it down. Then I mount the leftover long bulb on the passengers side in approximately the same spot as the drivers' side bulb. Now route the wire for the side bulb up into the engine compartment I recommend following the wires that are already there strapping the new one onto the existing ones again making sure the wire is out of the way of anything that moves. Now find a spot for the last bulb that again gives you the best look (I had an Evo 3 front and found it an awesome effect putting it in a spot that let the light show through all the holes in the bumper) find the spot you want it in and again mount it. Then take the single wire from that bulb and connect it to the previous bulb. Now the last thing to do is the wiring for the control module. There should be a red and a black wire. You can do this one of 2 ways. A.) Figure out what spots on the fusebox that have power and use one of those to connect the positive then ground the other one to a bolt on the frame. B.) (And also my prefered way of doing things) again ground to a bolt somewhere in the cabin then rout the positive wire through the firewall at the same point as the bulb wire and route it directly to the battery following the wires already there. You can easily slip the wire into one of the wire protectors that are there to keep it hidden. Advantages of doing it that way are A.) It looks MUCH cleaner. B.) It's a more stable way of connecting it to a power source you'll never have to worry about it falling out and coming disconnected. Well hope that helps a bit. Anything more feel free to ask

i just bought new head lights for my 97 spyder, and alls i had to do was use the stock wiring harness that came off my oem headlights pooped some xenons in it for some oompff, i dont know if you can do the same for those 3gs but if you can see the wiring harness on your stock lights take one out and study it, then go on ebay and find the lights you want for your yr model ask the seller about if you can use the stock wiring and you should be set if so

I have used both neon and leds. personally if you just want the ground to light up get the leds but if you want to have the light shine thru the grill and rim spokes get neons. I have installed both kinds and the install is pretty simple. first you need a ramp or jack to get under the car. then with a drill, drill the holding brackets on to the desired location. once you do that snap the lights into place and run the wires up to the battery your kit should come with a switch so connect the black wires to the ground and red to the red wires on the switch and then the white wire to the battery. that is pretty much all there is to it. just follow the wiring diagram and an hour later you will be done.

I've never needed a ramp or a jack but then again if the car is lowered then.... And I also have no problem getting the LEDs to shine through my bumper holes.

Ok those bulbs you have have many Leds within it. i bet if you broke one open you would see what i am talking about. by strip i ment the "bulbs" you have.

I would get LED'S i had 2 sets of neons on my older car and both sets broke during the winter becuase they are fragile when cold..... i dont know where you live that might not be an issue, but my friend has LED'S they are way brighter and they all work and havent broken in 2 years cant beat that i would get LITEGLOW too they are brighter then street glow and you can get them for like 105$ at this website www.cardiscountstereos.com
They have a spot in that site where you can get neons its easy to find and all the wires plug into a box that has like 10 different patterns.
