Does ANYONE know?

<< this ralliart part (Part #: RAY69013 ) is NOT, I repeat NOT a 2DIN kit. Its merely an "ACCENT" kit.
Is the MMCS standard 2DIN? Can I buy the MMCS nav install kit and use it to mount and cover an aftermarket nav ???
Only can mount with one screw using stock bracket.
Nav antenna, I hope the rail doesnt obstruct the sat signal.
The circle is the only place where it could be rigged to mount on the stock braket.
Installed the same cam in the stickied thread
The piece highlighted doesnt come out, I need the MMCS panel, I have no choice.

if i remember correctly...07mivec was able to install an aftermarket 2DIN navi unit using the factory dash kit
it wasnt as perfectly snug as the mmcs unit from the factory, but it wasnt bad at all
as to how he was able to integrate the steering wheel audio controls and bluetooth is still unkown to me

Well it looks like 2DIN. So it's not 2DIN at all? Is it small for a 2DIN install?

Its a little accent piece that goes over a 2DIN panel, suggesting that in japan there is such a panel as opposed to JUST the MMCS panel.. however I have searched everywhere and I cannot find it. Im going to japan next month so Ill see if I could find something over there.
if not ill just get the MMCS panel and try to rig it some how..

I would think the nav system has a double din body, but with an extended fascia with all the buttons on the side etc. So the face of it might be bigger than the body. Maybe someone can confirm that...
I say that because the 6-cd unit is definately double-din, and the mounting frame behind the dash fits DIN width perfectly.... But the hole in the OEM fascia is a bit larger than a standard double din. So like goldenboy mentioned... 07mivec did it and has posted some pics - just some gaps on the sides that aren't that bad, and could be filled in with something easily if you were so inclined (like flashing LEDs!

) I'm not sure about the ralliart one... I'd guess again it was the same width (larger than double din) but it's hard to tell from pics. I'll be doing it sooner or later (i have a single din now), and will probably just put some filler blocks wrapped in black felt so you don't notice as much.

The electronic board with the passenger airbag light,it will come off very easy ,just unplug the white band /connector and off course, take the screws out.
How much you've paid for the double din dash board piece?

I tried. It doesnt come off. :( Maybe I did something wrong. Either way, even if I did manage to pull it out, there is nothing to fasten it to. It would be dangling in behind the accent ralliart piece I have.

Whats the small white looking flex connector on the upper left of the bottom piece.
The Nav Kit is around a few hundred... I will check on my info later today.

I was able to get it off OK, but your point about fastening it is true. It probably has nowhere to mount on the new peice. This is EXACTLY why I didn't bother waiting for an aftermarket dash kit - that circuit board is critical (airbag warning lights) and is integrated with the warning flasher button assembly. Good luck getting an aftermarket company to address that whole claptrap. This is also why the OEM nav fascia costs $150 - it includes that whole assembly.
Bugger...

Oh, and the flex connector attaches to the radio faceplate - for the 6-disc unit, at least. It's a delicate little bit, so be really careful if you detach it... don't pull and prod - if you do it right, it comes out easily - if it doesn't, then you aren't doing it right.
I forget why it needs to connect to the radio... I think I figured it out, but can't recall.
You probably figured out that if you don't have that lower portion connected, your dash issues airbag warning / service required lights.

The flex connector is to carry all the power and information to the display.I took it off and left only the airbag light module in order to use aftermarket radio.

I don't know the P/N, but call this place
http://www.mitsuaccessories.com/ and ask for Tim. That's where I bought mine. He'll be able to get it for you.

A repreasentative from Pioneer said that they will have a mounting kit for the
Outlander ready before Christmas 2007.

This kit will contain can adapter and wiring.

I just called them and they told me that they dont make anything specific for any vehicle models :(
They said they had a generic kit for double din installations.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg/product/details/0,,2076_310069685_298177917,00.html Did you get the name of the pioneer rep or a part number?

The outlander kit comes with all the hardware for the Nav unit incl the CAN (can), GPS Ant., Front panel cover, cable harness to adapt the 2 plugs and 1 tape away plug to the nav unit..
the cable harness takes 3 connectors from vehicle to 6 connectors to nav and 1 to new can.
The whole setup from Ebay cost me just under 1900.00 for overnite shipping.
I have (what I can tell) is all the functions of the installed unit without having them set the etsc etcs whatever to it.
Im gonna try to look for D-09 near the dc connector in the back of the car for camera hookup. It has to be there. Most car manufacters would have cables for options prewired. At the build level it cost near nothing to prewire a car for dealer add ons.

As I was told they had some difficulties making a panel cover with the original waffel shape as the Outie, so
you have to buy a original panel cover. They supply a "fill out" cover for both sides of the Avic-HD3BT
in the kit. I can't remember the original part number for the panel cover I was given by the Pioneer representative
here in Europe, but I will check my notes tomorrow.
