Ok, so i bought a 2000 eclipse GT about a year ago, and since im in college it is hard to do mods, so far i have added the full air intake, and the magnaflow exhaust. I am not getting the power that i want, and i know the car is slow from the start, only having 205 hp, all im looking for is omething to take down these crap rice burner civics. I am a good driver, but what kind of mod or mods should i look for this summer to upgrade my eclipse? Whta kind of price would this be? And how much is installation if i chose to get a professional to do it? One more question, what is the bets sight to order parts for myt eclipse?

i dont know much about 3g's but i do know one universal fact. If you can, always try to do the work yourself. It will save you a lot of green, and afterward, you're just that much more experienced.

basically makes the cylinders wider giving it more cubic capacity. So if you have a 3.0L engine you might be able to get it bored out to a 3.5L.

How is "boring a block" the easiest way to get noticeable hp. Most likely if you "only" bored the block out you wouldnt notice anything.
What kind of cams do they sell for 3gen eclipses? Cams are something you'd notice a gain in hp with.

thats crap. If you bore it out enough you can get alot of hp from it. Its not the cheapest method... but it works

Well as Jeff said its the "easiest", its not the easiest its a lot of work. Idk if you guys know whats involved in boring a block, ecspecially if there is nothing wrong w/ the motor in the first place. Just stick to bolts ons.

I dont think you realise how hard it is to get power from that engine. Course i know what a bore out involves. Bolt ons wont give you all that much power... you would need alot of cash to get decent power still. n/a power is hard to make.

Talk to Russ from Tearstone.com I was asking him the same questions and he said just by building up the engine you can take your stock hp up to around 400, but it's expensive.

hmmmm from what i heard even 300hp is pretty hard to get... ask emonz he knows more about it. Not to mention you can only run 8psi with any turbo kit on that car...

Russ did not say that. You misunderstood what Russ said.

Why do people think that they will gain noticable power from just intake and exhaust?
