Well I have recently test drove an 06 eclipse. And Im in love with it. Peformance wise the car is ****n awesome. It gets up and goes like no 2mro. But Im not 2 happy with the exterior of the car. I think it looks decent, but the older ones was the best. But I have come to the conclusion that I am going 2 buy the Eclipse at the end of next month. And I want 2 put some more peformance on it and I was wondering if anyone could help me with it. Like what should I put on it 2 make it faster?

yeah whats up man im here with you i bought mine about two weeks ago and yes i agree it gets up and goes. Ive been looking for parts for it but i think they are still in fabrication of them i cant find nothing. but as far as getting more power start out with some breather parts CAI cat back exhaust the exhaust it comes with is good but GREDDY exhaust would be a little better. The maybe change the headers and then put a 25 or 50 shot of Nos in ti that will give us about 30 to 50 more hp at the wheels well let me know if you find anything for the 06 eclipse later SCORCH

remember guys that Ralliart is coming to the US in '06. As for performance parts APC said they will start making aftermarket parts in '06 also. For the ultimate tune pull the 3.8L MIVEC out and put 2.0L MIVEC turbo in with a cold air intake. Or just wait for June '06 when the 400HP Eclipse Ralliart caomes out and trade.

I doubt that you can pull the 3.8L and swap it with a 2.0L and the Eclipse GSX I am betting it wont ever happen. if it does it will be detuned and have less of an agressive body, remember the eclipse cant cut into the EVO and it will need to be priced for less than the EVO unless the EVO is going to dissapear. I really dont see a 400HP Eclipse coming out before a 400hp EVO even gets shipped over to the states as a factory option..

As far as the 3.8L I have seen 2 turbo kits around one TT and single Turbo , I remember one was by Greddy

It’s part Eclipse, part Evo and better looking than either of those stock models. It’s Mitsubishi’s latest concept tuned to within an inch of its life by in-house speed shop Ralliart. The R boys took the Evo VIII’s 2.0-liter turbocharged 4G63 engine (upclocked to ~400hp) and AWD system, and slapped them both into an ‘06 Eclipse, where they probably should have been in the first place. On the outside 20” wheels under tasteful body flares give it a sumo stance that accentuates the new Eclipse’s best lines. It’s the best Ralliart concept we’ve seen so far, if we’d be so bold.

I have seen that thing 1000 times I really honestly doubt it will ever be made, I hope it does but it doesnt look like it will, that car will cost Mitsu way to much to produse which inturn will mean ALOT out of your wallet when signing for it, I dont see that car being sold for less than 40k it will prob be more. The EVO IX MR goes for between $36k and low 40k range. and the EVO IX MR has only 286HP compaired to 400HP.

If we get the car it will be either very expensive or very de tuned, much like the older eclipses they shared the same motor as the early EVOs but were still de tuned compaired to the EVOs of that time.

I have to say that the Ralliart Eclipse is beautiful and expensive. Now if you notice my username I am a salesman at a Mitsubishi store. Saying that, I do have a little more inside info on the issue then the general public has on the internet. From Mr. Gilligan at Mitsubishi North America I have some info on the CONFIRMED release of this car! Of course the new Evo X will have an option available for a 500hp model!

Nothing against you, but I will not belive it till I see it. Mitsu sucks for ruining there prototypes look back at the 3G and 4G prototypes both were 100x better than the car we actually got. There is no way a dealer that is struggleing to stay above as it is is going to launch an new even more expensive line of cars IMO, the reason Toyota stoped the supra here has because they couldnt make enough money off of they. New a supra TT was $46k. I dont see Mitsu realisticly putting 2 cars of $40k+ value out lie I said if it comes it wont be 400hp it will be detuned is my guess in order to save money and warrnety work because they see what goes on with EVOs and there Transfer Cases.

You maybe totally right. I guess we will see in June '06 if Mitsu has the guts to put a few out there or if the new CEO is gonna be conservative. But with all the Ralliarts comin' out it should be an awsome next two years. Ralliart Raider, Galant, Endeavor, Eclipse, Lancer, and everybodies favorite....the Evo. Thanx for your input on this..

I hope it comes out, id love to see it. But I honestly think that the Turbo fad is going to faze out again like it did the in late 90s turnrning the mellenium. I hope to god it doesnt though

Can someone help me out, looking for a 06 Eclipse. GS (inline-4) or GT (V6). Dollar, per it's power.

[OLD POST]

HI, I need a new car. (For Every Day Drive) Choices between Eclipse GS (Inline-4) to a Eclipse GT (V6) Engine? 2006 Models.

The reason I ask is that, I can't seem to find the difference, beside the "obvious". If I were to put a turbo-kit in the inline-4 it would outperform the V6 which sequentially cost less than the STOCK V6. Any opinions on which model to buy?

The 2.4l 4G69 that is in the 2006 Eclipse GS is a motor that can be tuned very affordabley. They are the same motors that are in the Ralliart Lancers and in the Sportback Ralliarts, so check out some of the posts on tuning mods that have been done and create your own opinion on wich way you should go.
