strictly running n/a with no boost or nitrous... probably looking right at 180-190 MABEY, that's a bored out long block with a stroker kit running 12.5:1 compression, ported and polished head, ported and polished intake manfold, larger throttle body, CAI, exhaust, upgraded plugs, wires, 93 octane, a chip would help, lightweighf flywheel, pulley kit.... i know you probably don't want to hear this but it realy is cheaper to turbo the car. you can buy a turbo kit for the price of the long block. good luck.

TECHNICALLY speaking... anything aftermarket on any car is illegal so... no, but at the same time modifying your mom's Fort Taurus with an exhaust is illegal to... so it's kind of a wash. The best brand name turbo kit to get is Hahn, (www.hahnracecraft.com) but at the same time they are the most expensive to. There are a couple others out there. www.cimotorsports.com <- concept illusions turbo kit, www.treadstone.com <- turbonetics turbo kit (the kit that i'm going with), www.turbokits.com <- star turbo kit, or you can piece your own together... i have a friend here in SC that got an SRT-4 turbo from a guy for 150, his SRT-4 intercoller for 50 paid a friend to make him his intercooler piping and boght a BOV and is running 12lbs and is keeping up with STI's on the interstate and running 9.2's at our eighth mile track. so with his bottom end rebuild he spent a total of like 1300-1500 and he was tubo'd and can push his engine and the turbo up to 20lbs. now he's not tuned so another 200-300 will get you the Greddy E-manage and you'll be a lot faster and won't but punishing your engine as much.

but... it REALLY is cheaper to sell your car and get a GS-T or GSX... the only reason i'm taking the long and more expensive road is b/c there are a lot more GS-T and GSX cars out there than there are GS/RS turbo'd and i like to be unique.

make sure you realize that with alot of those turbo kits they dont come with everything. There still are alot of components you need like fuel and electronics

yup, tha'ts what i'm piecing together right now, injectors, MSD, boost gauge, wideband, greddy emanage ultimate,

thats good to hear..ill go with the Na parts for now. i will eventually either turbo it too, however..will if i install a turbo kit, will it pass emission?

Yes with a cat

x2 with Sebba, here in good ole South Carolina we dont have emissions laws so a lot of people just run straight 3'' pipe straight back, sounds good, LOUD turbo spool, and better flow. so you can check your stat emissions laws. and if you have to use a cat, don't fret on the HP loss... in an article of Import Tuner a month or so ago there was an article with the difference between a cat, high flow cat and test pipe. . . the difference was 1hp gain each step up, so you won't be losing that much.

did they have proof showing it because i dont know how much i believe only a 2hp gain between stock cat and test pipe. seems kinda screwed up, especially when you start running higher boost and bigger turbo's

yea they had the dyno runs to prove the differnces... from stock cat - high flow cat = 1hp gain and from high flow cat - test pipe = 1hp gain. i want to say it was in the november edition of Import Tuner, i think it had an orange sylvia on the front w/ carbon fiber hood. i sent the magazine and 5 others to a friend of mine in Iraq so i don't have it anymore. i think it was on a turbo'd integra pushing like 8-10 lbs.... i can't be sure though. but yea on the same car running the same boost, it was 2 hp gain.

thats kinda small boost though. IDK i guess it will really depend because to use a stock cat that mean you MUST use a smaller downpipe, so already there is more restriction. And i think the changes in HP is gonna be very boost dependant

I never really thought those high flow cats were all that great anyway. They are pointless.

i dont disagree with that but i think going to a test pipe should give better gains

You can achieve approx. 500hp,by just doing bolt on's........
